is in fact the best one liner, pout down and generally funny joke in the world, only closely followed by that's what he/she said?

Or am I a child?

OP,you're so right. Works every time. I've never said it but always makes me laugh used in a comedy scenario. Not over used just a surprise one here and there when I've forgotten about this as a thing.

ditavonteesed · 07/01/2016 19:39

Sparkling I wonder if it was more of a teenage boy thing, there is a sexual level to it as well as an insult and general comedy put down.

Sparkling, part of your face is missing!

MuttonDressedAsMutton · 07/01/2016 19:45

Confirmation, if it were needed (which it is not!), that I am now officially an old fuck. A gimmer. A mildly confused and often bemused gimmer.

I understand hardly a word of this thread and really don't get any humour from it at all. Confused

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2016 19:45

Mmmm. I was bullied quite badly at High school. I am now grateful nobody ever said anything nasty about my Mum too.

SheDoneAlreadyDoneHadHerses · 07/01/2016 19:47

Ah round these parts its:

"Yer mum"

"Yer mum on toast"

"...........wounded" (concede)

We use "face" or "bum"☺️

fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 19:57

I don't need to google it Dawn I was just quoting it.

You're right, though, 'Your face' is the son of 'That's you that is'.

Y tu Mama.

Love it.

ReadyPlayerOne · 07/01/2016 20:10

Your mum, your face...yep, they get said a lot. My bestie and I have a regular back and forth thus:
That's awful.
Your face is awful.
Your mum is awful.
Your mums face is awful.

Classy, us. Grin

Ilovetorrentialrain · 07/01/2016 20:17

Mutton it's not new - in fact it's very old. I'm feeling my age now.

kelper · 07/01/2016 20:17

sparkling a quick Google has proved you right! In my head it was "that's your mum that is" I'm clearly getting old too 😂😂

minniebear · 07/01/2016 20:17

My brother and I do the your mum... and find ourselves utterly hilarious because we have the same mum :) If our shared mum heard us we'd probably both get a clip round the ear. We're both in our thirties.

KaraokeQueenOfTheNorth · 07/01/2016 20:21

See that Geoff Capes?
I'm aware of him
that's your mum, that is

Orda1 · 07/01/2016 20:23

I can't believe there are people who haven't heard of your mum/face.

I thought we were the only adults that did this

MooseAndSquirrel · 07/01/2016 20:25

Haha I do this constantly DD1 has joined me in the your mum/face throw backs she's 7, and hilarious
And a day that goes by that you havnt found a reason to claim a that's what s/he said is a wasted day!!

Ilovetorrentialrain · 07/01/2016 20:26

And ditavinteesed thanks for the link. Absolutely loved that - not seen for years. I had such a Rob Newman crush at the time too. Prob about 16 / 17 myself.

Figwin · 07/01/2016 20:30

I do wonder what a our kids will be like. DD is 1 now and I have to really hold myself back from calling DH a cockwomble in front of her. We are generation banter...

cardibach · 07/01/2016 20:32

I prefer 'as the actress said to the bishop' to 'that's what she said'. Classier. More retro.

CerseiHeartsJaime4ever · 07/01/2016 20:32

DS said to me that I was a smelly jelly.

I Instinctively replied, yeah, well your mums a smelly jelly....

DP cracked up but it took me far too long to realise Blush
