is in fact the best one liner, pout down and generally funny joke in the world, only closely followed by that's what he/she said?

Or am I a child?

OP posts:
fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 19:17

if it helps I even do it to the kids who just sort of roll there eyes at me and say but your our mum.

I do that Grin

We probably need to grow up. I CBA yet Grin

Redglitter · 07/01/2016 19:17

Ok the humour in this has clearly passed me by... even after reading the explanation Confused

Ratarse · 07/01/2016 19:18

For childish antics, I find copying what people say word for word much funnier.

GloGirl · 07/01/2016 19:18

We do "that's what she said" in this house. Big fans of the US office! It's hard to stop once you've started.
That's what she said.

Celticlassie · 07/01/2016 19:19

Yer maw's got baws and yer da likes it.

So. Harsh. Grin

ditavonteesed · 07/01/2016 19:19

redglitter try it out a few times it'll grow on you (like your mum)

OP posts:
EponasWildDaughter · 07/01/2016 19:19

You either get it or you don't.

I don't! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2016 19:21

I don't get it. Confused

ditavonteesed · 07/01/2016 19:22

this nearly made me wet myself

OP posts:
ditavonteesed · 07/01/2016 19:22

ah Eponas, thats what your mum said last night

OP posts:
KaraokeQueenOfTheNorth · 07/01/2016 19:23

Also hilarious is the likes of
"oh, I saw your mum yesterday"
"I saw YOUR mum yesterday"

"I think this belongs to your mum"
"I think it belongs to YOUR mum"

That's what she said is also hilarious.

Salmotrutta · 07/01/2016 19:23

Apparently, according to my pupils anyway, "Your Mum/Maw" is very passé and it is met by a pitying look if any unfortunate teen utters it as a response.
Grin

fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 19:24

It's just a really childish riposte to any criticism or anything negative Sparkling.

Example:

The room is a mess.

Your face is a mess.

Your mum is a mess.

Abbreviations; 'Your face', 'Your mum'.

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2016 19:25

Maybe it's regional?

fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 19:25

Well we're old Salmo. It's our job to be tragically behind the times Grin

fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 19:26

No it's yoof innit? And 'that's what she said' was from The Office (US version) AFAIK.

Salmotrutta · 07/01/2016 19:27

Yes, yes fidel1ne - I'm so behind the times I meet myself on the way back.

ditavonteesed · 07/01/2016 19:27

Don't think it's regional I'm a yorkshire lass and dh is from posh bit of Kent. Makes it even better if it is so uncool, I can do it in front of the kids friends.

OP posts:
Flossiesmummy · 07/01/2016 19:28

I love a good your mum joke.

And your face.

And your mum's face.

And so's your face.

And that's what she said.

Wiggletastic · 07/01/2016 19:29

I have never heard this used and I don't get why its funny at all. I'm obviously tragically old, humourless and totally uncool. (proves this by saying 'uncool').

FeralBeryl · 07/01/2016 19:29

It's, ahem...
YERR MARRRRRRRR here
As you were Grin

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2016 19:30

I remember Newmann and Baddiel as 'that's YOU that is'.

Worcestershire here if that helps. Grin I will ask the teens when I next see them.

fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 19:31

Im so behind the times I meet myself on the way back.

Smile

Sparkling's still Confused ing at her screen like kermit. I can sense it.

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2016 19:32

I really am fid.

I feel as if part of my childhood is missing.

fidel1ne · 07/01/2016 19:32

I remember Newmann and Baddiel as 'that's YOU that is'.

OMG YES!!

See that milk that's two weeks old and turning into mouldy cheese....
