hubby and I like a drink . we dont get drunk and we dont have hangovovers the next day. we dont drink on work days . and have maybe half to a full bottle of wine . BUT every time we speak to father in law he makes a comment about us being drunk or having a hang over. We have pictures on FB of nights out and yes we have a glass in our hands and there is always a comment from him. Im finding it a bit boring. Maybe he thinks he is being humorous I dont know but the joke is getting thin. We dont see him very often as they live far away but the times we do see him we have a cuppa as we do not drink during the day .
He likes a drink of red wine ...he says its for his health.

So what do you want to tell him?

I would love to tell him to bugger off but he is my father in law so bite my tongue.

Its a tedious trend to warn people every time they enjoy a drink, or take a sleeping pill for insomnia. Or pain meds, or pretty much anything. Its either the 'slippery slope', or you are already well on the way to Skid Row.

One upmanship is boring to deal with, YANBU.

Well just adjust your settings so the photographs of you socialising aren't visible to him.

Well if he's restricted how is he commenting on pictures he can't see? If he's making more general comments just tell him to stop.
