Ds2 6 is fast asleep, ds1 is 9 and wide awake, he is at the stage where he believes and does not...

I haven't even wrapped a single present (been ill with campylobacter for the past 3.5 weeks) decided I am not being ill anymore and poured that large expensive wine...

ds1 please go to sleep Smile

Yep and I am shattered.

Im now going to put the presents in the living room and I've got my sister keeping watch for me.

MinesAPintOfTea · 25/12/2015 00:15

MyLittle sneak the stockings off the bed. Then carefullly remove bells --to outside bin and include a note from Santa about some of hos reindeer lossing theirs and thanking them. Then replace and never have bell problem again 🔔🔔🔔

mudandmayhem01 · 25/12/2015 00:19

I really want to go to sleep dd 11 and ds10 wont go to sleep just lying in bed twitching with excitement, I just want to put the stockings in, they don't even believe in Santa but they love the stocking tradition.

GeneralLeia · 25/12/2015 00:19

My 11 year old is still awake and was crying a little earlier - is desperate to sleep but can't!

The 8 year old was still up a while ago and was pulling a sadface the Daily Mail would be proud of! Hoping he's nodded off.

I want to go to bed! But Santa can't come until they are fast asleep.

Off to check...

GasLIghtShining · 25/12/2015 00:21

MY DC are 20 & 17 so I will be in bed before them. Does mean they will be tripping over their stockings as they go into their bedrooms (another house who do not let some bearded old git into the bedrooms)

lilydaisyrose · 25/12/2015 00:23

Cripes my 8 yr old DD just got up, we were on our way to bed, stockings and Santa sacks filled! She still believes with a few doubts creeping in so this is a disaster!! She has spotted her filled stocking (not opened though) and we have crappily feigned surprise that he got in (must've been through the window) without us hearing...arrrggghhh!!!
She's now snuggled up in our bed after some tears (overtired and confused) watching Santa Claus 1 with DH! Wah!!

GeneralLeia · 25/12/2015 00:23

GODDAMMIT, 8 year old wide awake!

Catzpyjamas · 25/12/2015 00:25

DD(almost 8) has a cough and keeps waking so I have given her calpol and hope it takes effect very soon as I'm exhausted. DSS (20) isn't home from the pub yet Xmas Envy

steff13 · 25/12/2015 00:25

Our 14-year-old son is notorious for not going to sleep on Christmas Eve. In fact, our 5-year-old daughter is the result of us trying to entertain ourselves while we waited for him to fall asleep one Christmas Eve. Xmas Wink

imjustahead · 25/12/2015 00:27

just eaten the mince pie for Father Christmas, i feel a bit sick. dd is 13. she could be asleep. I'm too scared to go up yet.!

imjustahead · 25/12/2015 00:29

Catz, i feel for you, dd was ill like that last year and we were both exhausted, as she wanted to sleep but couldn't. Hope she gets some deep sleep further into the night. x

Catzpyjamas · 25/12/2015 00:33

Thanks imjustahead, I'm so tired but cannot fall asleep until the stockings are filled. I can't even fill DSS's in case she notices its not hanging empty on his bedroom door. She's been up 3 times so far.
Not even able to watch tv as DH is at war on Call of Duty. Xmas Angry

If I ever get our stockings filled, Santa leaves them outside the bedroom door here so as not to wake anyone.

HemanOrSheRa · 25/12/2015 00:40

Good God. Please DS GO TO SLEEP Sad. He's 10. He and I are so desperate to go to sleep that he allowed me in to snuggle up to him in bed, stroke his hair and SING to him Confused. Bad Times. Then I must have dropped off because the next thing I knew he was shouting 'Mum!! Are you asleep? Move!' Blush. I'm now sat in the living room quivering with exhausted chills. And I can hear him moving around! DP is completely unable to be fecking quiet and is thundering up and down asking if DS is asleep because it's late Angry.

Yes, Dear. I pissing well know that. Shut the hell up and DS might, just might drop off.

whojamaflip · 25/12/2015 00:40

Thank you, thank you, thank you MN!

Santa had forgotten to eat his mince pies or drunk his whisky and the reindeer hadn't eaten their carrotsShock

Just been back downstairs to rectify the situation Wink

Still got ds1 (12) awake for some strange reason - he can usually sleep for England!

HemanOrSheRa · 25/12/2015 00:44

Oh here we go.....into the bathroom....back into bed Confused

imjustahead · 25/12/2015 00:44

dd stocking/sack is outside her closed door. we came to this compromise last yr, can't remember how.

I am a sneaky cow, i have two identical ones, the other one has been filled and sitting in my wardrobe for 3 days.

imjustahead · 25/12/2015 00:46

Heman, oh no.

dd just shouted out in her sleep. i am expecting a bathroom visits any time soon.

i was on a thread like this last yr, would be interesting to find it and see what time i went to bed lol

Ineedtimeoff · 25/12/2015 00:48

i still remember being so excited about xmas that I couldn't sleep.

I know it's frustrating but it's also so sweet. DD went to sleep at around 11pm after a dose of calpol. Bad mum.

Merry xmas everyone I might have been at the sherry whilst wrapping

imjustahead · 25/12/2015 00:54

me too, i remember feeling sick and wanting to cry i was so excited (last yr) nah, i remember being awake at 4 or something one year, knowing mum would kill me. Lying there waiting, and waiting for a reasonable time to rush into mum's room.

bless us all this night x

HemanOrSheRa · 25/12/2015 00:55

I know imjust! Just done the glass of water.....I'm leaving it until 1am and then going for it! Grrrrrrrr Grin
