To be amazed at the amount of 'stuff' left in the shops

Just that really - I went into town and all the shops had shelves full of gifts/ decs etc.

Then went Tescos and I've never seen so much veg in my life- at 5pm.

Have the retailers really got it that wrong?

There's going to be some mammouth sales.

We got the last pack of satsumas in our local Morrisons today.

herecomesthsun · 23/12/2015 23:07

M n S was heaving with people bulk buying desserts.

I might pop in at the weekend and lick something up half price...

Greebosmum · 23/12/2015 23:08

If anyone wants any sprouts, just let me know. I got a bit carried away today and bought two bags (I think one would have been enough), then my DD gave me a bag that she had but didn't want.

Sprout Surprise anyone?

lorelei9 · 23/12/2015 23:12

Here, if you lick it, I think you've got to buy it!!

Greeb, I bet at least 80% of sprouts don't get eaten.

I love that, on this thread, we've had Sprout Panic, Sprout Surprise and Potato Pandemonium.

lorelei9 · 23/12/2015 23:17

Oh and Dessert Devastation.

BigcatLittlecat · 23/12/2015 23:20

Hope there's not a carrot calamity!

raspberryrippleicecream · 23/12/2015 23:20

I nipped into Aldi at 7.30 to stock up on Prosecco, no Prosecco or Cava to be had!

MistressoftheYoniverse · 23/12/2015 23:26

It's Cava Calamity! Grin

ShebaQueen · 23/12/2015 23:26

I went supermarket shopping tonight, lots of empty shelves, no tonic, no coke, hardly any veg, no limes, only one pack of lemons left and that had been opened.....

Planning phase 2 tomorrow Sad

MistressoftheYoniverse · 23/12/2015 23:30

Where are you Sheba?...

ThomasRichard · 23/12/2015 23:32

:( Simon I think all the news stories about Christmas tree quality being poor this year because of how warm it is have put people off. My local B&Q were selling trees for £2 yesterday.

MabelSideswipe · 23/12/2015 23:34

The Tesco near here in the Cotswolds was not busy at 7 this evening and had loads of everything.

lorelei9 · 23/12/2015 23:35

Looted Lemons and a Prosecco Predicament.

Second one sounds like a film.

Loving Cava and Carrot Calamity. They sound like paint colours.

MistressoftheYoniverse · 23/12/2015 23:36

My DH is convinced there will be loads of cheap steak tomorrow Hmm apart from other stuff...

notapizzaeater · 23/12/2015 23:36

Our morrisons tonight had ran out of carrots, red cabbage, any form of breadcakes, chambrois, the shelves were bare throughout the shop :-(. I managed to get the last bottle if baileys :-)

MistressoftheYoniverse · 23/12/2015 23:37

Steak Sensation! Grin

RomComPhooey · 23/12/2015 23:38

I nipped into Aldi at 7.30 to stock up on Prosecco, no Prosecco or Cava to be had!

There was a programme on BBC2 at lunchtime about saving money on your Christmas food (the one with Greg Wallace). The test family usually bought 10 bottles of Moet & Chandon @ £30 each for Xmas, but when the film crew substituted different cavas and champagnes 'blind' for their mock NYE party and Chrimbo, everyone preferred Aldi's £4.97 cava over the more expensive champagnes. I bet that'll have flushed out a few bargain hunters today.

Sallystyle · 23/12/2015 23:38

Well, I still can't find a red cabbage.

So my shops are under-stocked.

Littlefluffyclouds81 · 23/12/2015 23:43

Sainsburys was busy but not unbearable at 3.30pm today. I also thought that they seemed to have an awful lot of most things left.

The only thing I couldn't get that I needed was raspberries.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 23/12/2015 23:44

Ive lost a bottle of Prosecco in my back garden! Put it by the back door to chill and now can't find it. Garden is very secure, I'm worried it's blown away!

Readysteadyknit · 23/12/2015 23:48

Just been to 2 Tescos - both had sold out of wrapping paper Confused

DirtyDancing · 23/12/2015 23:50

Who cares! I got everything delivered last night. Today picked up the few fresh bits I need. Suckers if your leave it any later than eve of 23rd Grin said in jest of course I just seem to have got myself sorted this year!

FishWithABicycle · 23/12/2015 23:51

8:00am when they unlocked the doors of waitrose it was like the grand final of supermarket sweep stampeding through the aisles.

All the stuff that was "out of stock" for my ocado delivery was there in plenteous supply though.
