To want to tell colleague to shut up!?

Grr.

This is just a vent. I will be working a 47 hour week this week including Christmas Day, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

My colleague keeps complaining and sighing and whining about having to work Christmas Eve and about being tired when she's only doing 12 hours.

I wouldn't dream of being so rude but AIBU to be thinking 'shut up you lazy thing!'

12 hour day or week?

Jamsugarcream · 23/12/2015 17:22

Week! Would understand moaning about a 12 hour day.

So you say, 'I wish, I will be working a 47 hour week this week including Christmas Day, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.'
If she doesn't get it, repeat every time she moans.

getmeoutofthismadhouse · 23/12/2015 17:31

Ask her if she wants to swap for your week Smile

CherryPits · 23/12/2015 17:36

Tell her to stop moaning that your week is 4 x as long as hers etc.

TaliZorah · 23/12/2015 17:41

Just because you've got it worse doesn't invalidate others problems

Jamsugarcream · 23/12/2015 17:41

She won't stop talking about how tired she is! Hmm

A 12 hour week is hardly a problem, is it? ;)

OP posts:
TaliZorah · 23/12/2015 17:42

Well maybe she is tired. Maybe she can't sleep at night. Maybe she's stressed. Maybe she's got a condition.

Don't be a dick

SaucyJack · 23/12/2015 17:42

Would you have wanted to cut your hours by 35 had you had the option?

Jamsugarcream · 23/12/2015 17:44

Ranting a bit on here isn't really being a dick is it, when I've politely held my tongue for three hours!

Saucy, I'd have liked to reduce them a bit TBH.

But even when her hours are cut she moans. I think she's just a moaner!

OP posts:
TaliZorah · 23/12/2015 17:50

Maybe she doesn't like her job. OP she obviously is unhappy about it

NotMeNotYouNotAnyone · 23/12/2015 18:01

Of course yanbu to think it!!

You know ywbu to say it but you can think whatever you like!

People may be right, she may have other issues causing tiredness. Or she might be a moaning cowbag. Either way though, as long as it's just in your head, it affects no one so yadnbu

girlguide123 · 23/12/2015 18:27

YANBU to think whatever you like.

I've only cracked once or twice and said out loud to my colleague what I've been thinking, but each time it wasn't a good move... so try and bite your tongue if you can.

I work with a moaner too, it can be really hard work Xmas Hmm
