Thought would update all the lovely posters who helped us shop for pregnant dil.

So got her 3 nice linen pairs of pjs for post baby as well as 3 snuggly maternity ones for now. Also sick slippers.

A thermos for night feeding and 3. Box sets of DVDs she hasn't got and like.

A spa voucher for next spring for her and ds or a friend.

A pretty bracelet and massage oils.

A big pretty bag for hospital stay with soap and glory goodies in it.

Aibu to hope she likes it? Grin hope so she's a sweetie.

I already have a 10 yo, he's super cute and gives great hugs, kisses ans squeezes, he hasn't got a grandma .... So if your other ds would like a ready made family without the nappy/crying at night business.... Put a word in eh? Xmas Grin

YADBU.

You are being controlling and trying to take over her pregnancy. Back off and stop suffocating her by buying her thoughtful gifts!!

Wink
GreyBird84 · 22/12/2015 19:45

Brilliant presents. I'd love a MIL as thoughtful as you!

Aeroflotgirl · 22/12/2015 19:56

Do you know what, it's great to read a lovely Mil thread, instead of the really horrid ones.

Hihohoho1 · 22/12/2015 20:00

Optimistic Grin

AeroFlot yes indeed there are so many awful threads and so many awful mils. Don't get it.

OP posts:
Aeroflotgirl · 22/12/2015 20:06

I know, they are absolutely toxic, when I clicked on yiur thread I expected another one, and was refreshed to see a positive experience Smile.

Iwonderwhy123 · 22/12/2015 20:19

You are simply awesome Xmas Smile
All I got from my MIL was unwanted, out of date advice and opinions
Lovely thoughtful gifts for your DIL.

Hope DIL appreciates you. Flowers

Jelliebabe1 · 22/12/2015 21:17

Waaaaaah! My mil doesn't really give a crap! And I've had the loveliest twins.... Xmas Envy. Envious much

blueturtle6 · 22/12/2015 21:18

As a new mum to a 3 month old the best gift MIL can give would be the promise of help or a listening ear after baby's born

Lilipot15 · 22/12/2015 21:53

This thread has made me remember what my MIL said when my second was born "but I thought you were having a boy, now I need to return the clothes"....."er, no, the point of not finding out on the scan is so that it's a surprise, for everybody". I genuinely don't think she meant it to come out as weird as it sounded. I can laugh about it now, at the time I said nothing as my reply would have been rude Grin

Kikigetty · 22/12/2015 21:55

Can I please swap you with my MIL OP??

Mine isn't interested in me or my pregnancy (her first grandchild) and gave me a free bird calendar from a newspaper for ChristmasSad

starry0ne · 22/12/2015 21:56

when I read Sick slippers..I thought you were the coolest mil on the planet...

If she doesn't like them I am available for the position

TelephoneIgnoringMachine · 22/12/2015 21:57
