There's love that's warm and nice and there's yearning and aching, which is horrible.

It does go, yes. There's no time scale unfortunately so we can't really answer that for you. You will, at some point, stop loving him. Or at least, that love will become more like a feeling of fondness. You won't realise it but there will come a point when you won't think about him or your lost relationship all the time. One day, it'll get to dinnertime or whatever and you'll think, "I haven't thought about him yet today," and that's when you know you're getting over the worst.

It's never gone for me. It's 8 years since I was last with him. Twenty years this coming September since we met. I will love that man until the day I die. Sorry.
