Christmas tree lights: white or multi-coloured?

Which ones look best on a tree?

Before anyone asks I've posted this in AIBU because I want a fierce and vigorous debate to help me make my mind up Xmas Grin

multicoloured. Christmas trees aren't meant to be tasteful, they're meant to display a collection of stuff aquired over the years. Themed christmas trees look very anal and stuffy.

I posted earlier about difficulty of getting lights with white wires/strings, which look better on my white tree than the usual dark green available this year. Actually, I bought some with green wires last year by mistake, and decided to paint the wires white or cover with tape, which has worked surprisingly well.
I can remember having multi-coloured lights on
real trees, and how we'd extend the life by painting shabby bulbs with nail-polish,( and even replacing lost or damaged "petals" with coloured cellophane or similar) and it occurred to me that it would be easy to alter any "cold white" lights by painting bulbs with a pale gold nail-varnish.

Multi-coloured because they are prettier.

Oh yes definitely. Stuff I made as a kid, threadbare tinsel, things found in kitchen drawer beneath the stacks of old utility bills.

i have white and blue but i would prefer just white.
warm white looks nice if you are using gold
white if you are using silver
multicoloured can be for both
