Which ones look best on a tree?

Before anyone asks I've posted this in AIBU because I want a fierce and vigorous debate to help me make my mind up Xmas Grin

Multi-coloured!

SomethingAboutNothing · 16/12/2015 08:47

Has to be warm white for me. We don't have a colour scheme just pretty decorations, most of them have some meaning behind them.
I can just about cope with multicoloured lights outside but not inside.

Jibberjabberjooo · 16/12/2015 08:47

White. Really don't like blue.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 16/12/2015 08:49

Multi coloured as I have a white tree.

Ifiwasabadger · 16/12/2015 08:50

Blue here, ours are gorgeous. The tree is decorated in silver so they look great together.

GloGirl · 16/12/2015 08:50

Rousette, your only option is to take the cool white set, carefully uncurl them from the street, look closely at them and then throw them far away.

Definitely warm white, not that horrible cold white or blue. I do like multi coloured too, looks a lot more festive

misshornblowerwouldbuyit · 16/12/2015 08:51

Multi coloured on a purple tinsel tree ( which im putting up today ) Xmas Smile

drspouse · 16/12/2015 08:53

We were given 10 strings of 100 white to decorate our wedding venue by a friend in the trade, and coupled with the fact that I was taught that coloured ones are common, like watching ITV or saying Pardon, no DS we will not be having coloured ones like down the road. Sorry, you are three, you don't get a vote.

Fooshufflewickbannanapants · 16/12/2015 08:58

I have blue on my grown up tree (front room,2ft tall and very high up) because dh likes blue, I have seven circles of Christmas hell vomit on mine and the kids tree in the conservatory which is gloriously gaudy and full of 6 kids worth of tatty crappyness all on one side and slightly to the bottom left.

RJnomore1 · 16/12/2015 09:01

White.

Not that I have strong views either way Grin but I reckon multicoloured should be a hanging offense.

And as for my neighbour across the ways speed flashing seizure inducing multicoloured tree - there is no punishment harsh enough! Grin

LadyMaryofDownt0n · 16/12/2015 09:01

White, warm white. I can't stand multicoloured lights or even worse..... Fibre optic!!

Roussette · 16/12/2015 09:03

Glo sounds like a good move Grin our tree looks most odd, like two different trees mashed up together!

bushtailadventures · 16/12/2015 09:03

I have warm white on my nicely co-ordinated red, white and gold tree. What I really really want are the multi-colour ones with petals that my gran had, complete with her multicolour, glittery baubles from Woolies, although I can do without the tree made of tinsel Xmas Smile

Iagreewithmrsdevere · 16/12/2015 09:06

Just not blue. Blue lights are not festive and should be legally reserved for emergency services only, with doubling of fines if they are flashing.

BestIsWest · 16/12/2015 09:06

Both here. On the same tree. And no co-ordinated colour or theme. Just lots of random baubles from different places. I like it that way. Reminds me of my childhood.

BestIsWest · 16/12/2015 09:08

Oh, and definitely flashing using all 7 different settings in turn with 3 sets of lights in non co-ordinated timing.

MyFriendGoo52 · 16/12/2015 09:15

Christmas is not the time of year to be tasteful. As you can see i'm a classy sort. Blush

Christmas tree lights: white or multi-coloured?
Krampus · 16/12/2015 09:27

In our Lounge we have multicoloured, set to a slow fade change. I've tried blue, white and warm glow in the past but the tree is in view when watching tv and I find those colurs distracting.

In the dining room tree we have white lights on a very stylized fake tree.

HumphreyCobblers · 16/12/2015 09:32

arf at white lights being classy

I have always been a devotee of multi coloured lights and there is nothing unclassy about my christmas tree, covered as it is in angels dressed in gingham or with crocheted wings, knitted baubles and dried orange slices. I have a very poncetastic tree Grin

Pobspits · 16/12/2015 09:45

Always had warm White berry lights. Last 2 years have had multicoloured lights on the tree and I love them. No tinsel though!

RascarCapac · 16/12/2015 09:49

Lol, DS and I had a nice time on Sunday afternoon walking some local streets and JUDGING.

No to coloured lights, is our final verdict. No appeal.

Something we noticed that seems to be a "thing" is lights in wreaths. Just wrong.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 16/12/2015 09:51

I have warm white and red (the berry ones) with multi-coloured baubles. The multi coloured baubles with multi coloured lights didn't work...

ICanSeeForMiles · 16/12/2015 09:57

I only like warm white. If I had my own way I would just have a massive tree with 800 white lights on as I used to do pre dh and dc

Now I half relented and let some baubles on the tree, but we moved this year and I've got room for 2 trees Xmas Grin So the dc have their own multicolour glitter shite choice of tree lights and decorations...its okay but gives me a bit of a headache to be honest.

WhataRacquet · 16/12/2015 10:20

Multicoloured lights, multicoloured baubles and multicoloured tinsel. I grew up in the 70's so I have a 70's Christmas every year Grin
