AIBU to ask you each for a haiku?

Years ago my sister embroidered an advent calendar for us and each year I wrap and hang chocolates on it. As a joke, I suggested this year that instead of chocolates I could write and hang a haiku on each day. (Haiku - 3 line poem with 5, 7 and 5 syllables in each line). My DC's think it's a great idea so now I've got to write 24 bloody haikus. Turns out I am crap at it. EG: Christmas is coming, The goose is getting fat but, not as fat as me.
Anyone like to help me out?

Children laughing as
Tearing paper reveals boxes
Containing good cheer

Turkey once hot now
Cold until curry powder adds
A new type of heat

The day is nearing,
All will enjoy fun and games,
Christmas day roll on.

Children are creeping,
For presents they are searching,
Ha ha they're not here.

Christmas draws closer,
There are presents still to wrap,
Pass the bloody gin.

Oh mine wasn't Christmassy, soz!

Japanese poem
Five, seven, five syllables
Short and to the point.

Haiku's are rubbish
There are not enough spaces
to say what you want

Overwhelmed by all
The lovely mumsnet haikus
calendar is full

See, I like Sugar's, but (depending on the age of your children) would "improve" it to:

Go the fuck to sleep
Cos Santa will not come for
Wide awake children

I was all prepared to be shocked and outraged that you put swear words in my lovely little haiku but then I remembered I'd posted this

Has climbed up the fucking tree
