To expect neighbour's not to leave their doggy poo bags on our shared garden

I have recently noticed that my neighbour's have started a collection of doggy poo bags on our shared front garden next to the steps leading down. We live in a masionette and I am the bottom so the front garden is in my view, like a house split into two flats on two levels. Their bins are literally right next to the steps so I'm confused as to why they leave them there. My 3 year old cousin was over to visit and he actually attempted to pick one up out of curiosity. I'm pregnant otherwise I would move them myself, although I'm not sure why I should be forced to. They have also got a big garden waste bag clogging up the garden that has been there for 2 months and doesn't look like it's moving any time soon. It makes the whole area look ugly and it's directly in front of my bedroom window.

I would confront them but they seem very hostile and I live by myself so don't want to risk any tension/anger towards me. I could put a note through the door but not really sure how I would word it. Why they think it's acceptable to leave animal waste in a public, shared area is beyond me

Is there a management company that looks after the shared spaces? Could you contact them about it?

I don't think so, I think the keeping up of the areas are up to us as they are owned flats. I may have to send my dad round or something as they are quite intimidating. I just don't know why on earth they leave them there and don't just put them in their bin

Try environmental health at the council?

I would speak to them now about it, in the summer it will not be pleasant!

They may think it's okay because it's in a bag - we had a neighbour who would leave a poo bag on our garden fence and then pick it up for the bin on his way home. That's all well and good, for 20 minutes, but sometimes he forgot and I don't want to be responsible for someone else's poo.

Just mention the little one picking it up and that your pregnant so you shouldn't be touching dog poo bags. My MW actually advised double bags/gloves as dog faeces can contain things that put you at risk. (I do have my own dog )

Ask politely if they could discard of it properly - if you get a bad reaction, the council should be able to help!

DONT do the note through the door thing, it's ten times more likely to piss them off than a face to face visit. Just put on your big girl boots and pay them a visit. Keep it friendly / polite and say that your toddler nephew is a frequent visitor and picked one up the other day, so would they mind putting them in the bin.

I recently asked them on passing to not play their tv so loud (above my bedroom) at 2am and they told me to 'fuck off because they can do what they want' so not really wanting to approach them again. They'd probably start putting the poo bags through my letter box I'll contact the council and see if they can do anything about it

Can you move?

You're clearly on a hiding to nothing with them and it won't get any better I'm sorry to say.

I'm gonna be moving when my baby is about 6 months old as its only a 1 bed, I would move now but too far along in pregnancy and it's so much hassle. I've had so many noise issues with them, I won't be so kind about all of it when I'm sleep deprived from caring for a newborn by myself

oh no - they sound like a bundle of joy - i think the only thing you could do is either move the bags to the bin, or ignore them... not sure anything else will work
