I know it may loose some of its nb, but it doesn't smoke in the oven and still tastes good. Someone else said its carsnogentic (ahh can't spell -learning difficulties!) But sounds like an old wives tale to me.

This is the stuff for roast vegs

firesidechat · 23/11/2015 14:19

I always roast my potatoes with that Piglet, but for some reasong would never use it on other veg.

In my cupboard I have:

Extra virgin olive oil.
Refined olive oil.
Rape seed oil.
Sesame seed oil.

And dripping in the fridge.

Not much use if you have vegetarians coming for dinner! :)

Ive heard that about the Spanish too. I think I'd trust them more than the average Brit tbhqf.

so why ask on a predominantly UK site?

If you don't believe the science....crack on as you were.

Very strange to ask, as you are happy to do it.

The website I linked to is American. So British and American scientists are wrong then Hmm

Rapeseed oil tastes yuck.

firesidechat · 23/11/2015 17:31

I've only just started using rapeseed oil for frying eggs and, like you I'm not mad about the taste and it's very yellow. I might go back to sunflower oil.

Bunbaker · 23/11/2015 17:34

I really dislike the taste of rapeseed oil as well.
