I destroyed spiders web

Ok, firstly I am terrified of most spiders. Fact.
This evening, I found some weird, hammock like web by my kitchen window and very bravely got a wooden spoon and disposed of it. Phew, job done I thought. plus a brave self pat on the back.
I then noticed little homeless spider on my work surface. He's so small that even I'm not that scared of him. Much.
He's now curled himself into a ball on my work surface, like he's making me feel guilty for destroying his home! I DIDN'T KILL HIM!!! Surely he can spin a more subtle home somewhere less obvious in my house??? Then we could all rub along together. As long as he doesn't have a family/back up.
Please say I WU to try to rid my kitchen of WEBS!!! (Sorry Mr sulking spider )

Awww..I have always quite liked spiders they do a sterling job imo..amazingly designed creatures..I had a semi-pet one that lived in my bathroom called killah we would feed him errant woodlice wondering around..good times
You could do the card and cup move and put him/her out or ignore and hope it builds a home in a less conspicuous place

btw I think you have done very well not killing or freaking out I lived with family that was deathly afraid of insects so I know you are doing very very well right now x

When you said "destroyed" I had an image of you hacking at the web with a machete or something.

Of course it's fine to remove a web inside the house.

Catch it and put it outside. Then it won't be able to rebuild a web inside.

Spiders use the protein that they eat in order to form their webs. The spider will now starve to death because it's used up its supply of protein and now can't make any more web to catch any prey

Said sulking spider has now disappeared since we sat down to eat our dinner
He was purposely making me feel guilty I'm sure.
I am honestly terrified of spiders but hate killing them though.
If only they'd just stay quietly hidden eating all of the other creatures in my house then we'd be fine!
Just don't come close to me!!!

As an explanation as to how irrationally scared I am .....

DD came into my room early one morning recently . I was awake early and looking at MN reading the news on my phone.
She nonchantly asked if there was a spider above me. I said I didn't think so. Put flash-light on my phone and there was a bastard spider right near my sodding head!!!!!
I don't usually move fast for anyone but I shot out of bed so fast that I got crippled with cramp in both legs and woke the whole house up!
Pesky buggers grrrrrr

Now this is a reason to freak out>>>
