Just that really. There's 2 of us. OH has a shirt every day, bedding and towels once a week, my work stuff every 2/ 3 wears, plus underwear and tea towels etc and OHs out of work clothes - t shirts every 1/2 wears, trousers once a week or more frequently if dirty.

But this seems to add up to a washload per day (or 3 in the week, 3 on a weekend if I don't do it regularly. And I don't understand why, we have big machine. Surely 2 people shouldn't create so much washing?!

Ill say it sgain. Am i really the only humanoid with a mix load wash setting?!

Nope.

Sixpencenonethericher · 18/11/2015 07:37

is that a mixed fabric or mixed colour ?

riverboat1 · 18/11/2015 07:39

I mix whites/ colours/ darks / underwear / teatowels whatever. If I have enough to hotes to do a separate wash with them then I will, but we don't have that many white clothes really. The only time I am careful is the first couple of washes of a new brightly coloured item where the colour may run.

I occasionally use those colour catcher sheets as well.

enough whites to do a separate wash

3 darks, 1 whites/lights and 1 pink/red/purple washes (clothes, muslins, towelling squares), 2 bedding washes and 1 towels (tea towels, bath mats included) wash a week. That's 7 a week for me, DH, DS1(6), DD(3), DS2(4 months) in an 8kg machine. If DS1 is not in PJ pants the bedding washes increase and DD is currently toilet training so accidents can increase the clothes wash but only by 1! I don't do washing every day, tend to do it Friday/Saturday/Sunday so DS1 will definitely have clean school uniform for Monday. When DD starts preschool in January it'll probably become 8 a week. DH doesn't have a uniform for work and I'm a SAHM which probably goes some way to reducing the loads.
Not doing any at the minute, washing machine is broken and having to wait a week for a priority Hmm repair appointment!
