To ask what age you consider someone to be young toi

I personally consider someone to be young till they are 35

I don't know tbh.

I think it changes as I get older. I don't consider myself young or old. I am 32.

But then I don't consider my dad old at 60. I do consider pils old as they just seem older than my dad.

I think 'young' depends and changes from person to person.

About 29 I think, but I'm 35 so I guess as I get older that number will change.

I think some of my friends in their 30s seem young still.

So mid 40s?

"Young" till 27/28 I think.
"Middle age" starts about 48ish but can extend to 60/65...

I'm 46 and I consider 29 to be the last age at which I would describe someone as young.

I'm 29 and don't feel 'young' particularly. But then I suppose that's maybe related to lifestyle - married, mortgage, kids, with dh for 11 years.

It's difficult to feel 'young' when dh and I reminisce about trips we took together over a decade ago . But if I was single, childless, dating - I probably would still feel 'young' at under 30.

I think you're young till your late twenties. Mind you I did meet a 26 year old man child recently.

I suppose people that are younger than you are considered 'young' - my mother is in her 80s and refers to me and my friends (all in our mid-late 50s) as 'you young girls' - probably to most of you on this thread we are considered ancient !

Young - my youngest sibling's age or so.
Old - my oldest's sibling's age or so.

I am the 3rd of 4 spread out over 13 years. It's all relative.

My definition of young varies but I can tell you categorically that "old" is my age + 10 (and always has been!)

30. I'm 34 and consider myself middle aged! I would look at it like this:

0-29 - Young
30-60 - Middle Aged
60+ - old

In answer to the OPs question, I try not to label people unnecessarily.

Some places I go, you are considered "young" if you are not retired.

I was in a retirement village recently, and they feel anyone under 80 is young.

If you are talking about "young to be having children" it might be different from "young to be appointed a manager" or a thousand and one other things.

It's all about perspective

Under 30 is still in their youth for me.

I'm mid 40's and not quite middle aged, perhaps early middle age? But not young any more. Hips and back are really fucked now. I can no longer get up from the floor without going on to my knees first. In fact I wouldn't get down on the floor anymore.

So I'm 'early middle aged'.

I think 50s-60s is middle-aged now.

30s? My DC would be devastated at the thought!

I'm 46 and I would say, under 35 is young to me. I actually felt quite young up to 40, I cannot believe how much I have aged in last 6 years, scary really.

Under 25 is young. 35 - 55 is middle aged. Over 65 is old.

I am 27 and consider myself young, I find it hard to comprehend the fact that I'm married with 2 children because I just don't feel like a "proper grown up" yet

I'd say that young is under 30, middle age probably between 45-55 and old is anything 65+

I think 20s is young, then there's a weird gap of 20 years where you're not anything, then you get to middle age in your 50s. Mind you, I was very chuffed when I had an email from a lady I met whilst overseas in the summer, that told me I was a "lovely young lady" - I'm 41 :-) (But I don't feel young myself :-( )

My grandma was 95 when she died and no one would ever have called her old! It amused me that she once dressed up as an "old lady " to a fancy dress party. I intend to follow suit. Old is a state of mind and I will never therefore be old

Middle age is usually defined as starting at age 40.
