Should be reducing surveillance rather than increasing it..

Isn't that what we have been doing and where's it got us? After news broke of JJ's killing, Cameron took his podium and told us how we've "struck a blow against IS" just 24hrs after 45 people were murdered, and 200 people seriously injured: blown to smithereens by ISIS suicide bombers in Beirut. Makes me wonder if they really think we're as detached from reality as they are?

Of course the Situation will escalate. So the answer is what? Give the secret services more surveillance powers? Rubbish! The way to defeat them is to unite with the Russians, the Iranians, Syrian gov't forces etc, go after these savages on the ground and annihilate them. But do you think that'll happen with us and the U.S committed to nothing else but regime change in Syria? Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said: “The tragedy in Paris demands that we all unite in our fight against extremism.” This call for unity will doubtlessly go unheeded and ignored. Events like the diabolical ones in Paris on Friday night and those that have been going on all over the ME recently, will continue. Regardless of how many of our civil rights we give away...

BTW RE: The passport, a U.S. intelligence official has told CBS News that a name and picture were recovered from the Syrian passport and the individual was not known to intelligence officials. So it's likely the Syrian passport is fake. The official said the passport did not contain the correct numbers for a legitimate Syrian passport and the picture did not match the name.
