To ask why people can't get back from sharm...

sorry. i know it's probably been done yo death but why can't folk get back?

my dd got stuck in Spain during the ash cloud thing and after a few days of novelty she was pretty shaken so these people must be petrified.

It has to do with the Russian air crash i know but why can't they get back and why don't we send the army for them. i think dd came back with the navy after the ash cloud. (or my memory is playing tricks on me again )

I agree bakingaddict, some awful comments on here. That only 'certain types of people ' who make you ashamed to be British go to Sharm is such a huge generalisation it's laughable. It's one of a handful of places within an 8hr flight that's guaranteed winter sun so it's bound to be popular with all sorts of people at this time of year. It must be a nightmare being stranded at the airport if you have children with you, I really hope they can resolve this soon.

I'm sorry, my grammar was dreadful/missing in my last post. I didn't mean that certain types will go to this area, I mean that certain types of people have a sense of entitlement.

My question would be why on earth go in the first place? One look at the main drag with its American fast food joints had me head for the hills without even taking up my room....
