To feel annoyed when I send someone a whatsapp message and they appear to ignore it?

Even though you can see they've been online since you sent it? It shows delivered to their phone but they haven't opened it. It makes me feel so invisible.

Now, I have AS so I'm fully prepared to accept that this might actually be my problem.

For some reason I don't mind so much when people don't text back immediately. I'm not sure what it is about whatsapp then...

My inlaws are like this. I need and use my phone for work, so I'll see their messages, but won't reply until I've finished work and am on "my own time". Its difficult to find a nice way of saying "MIL, you are fab, but your whatsapp is not the most urgent and important thing in my life right now".

Its interesting that when you look at the other thread about how these should be sent at anytime and those receiving the messages should turn off their phones if they don't want to receive them.

We now have the other side from what I suspect is the same group. And their response is that other people should still change their settings as not to upset the sender by not responding immediately.

Yesterday I was rushing for a train. I went on my WhatsApp to get the exact address cos my sister had sent me it. At the same time my friend wssaged me. I didn’t open it cos I needed to plan my route. I went back to it when I could. Hope that scenario helps you to see the reason why someone might be online but not responding.
