To join a company with a bad reputation, because I'm afraid of failing

I'm currently looking for jobs as I am being made redundant.

I was offered a role on Friday for a company that have a reputation in the industry that I work in as being awful to work for. In fact, the interviewer opened with 'you know it's challenging to work here, don't you?'.

I am terrified of failure, and have a ridiculous fear of being fired.

However, it is a role that would look great on my CV, increases my salary, and I actually really liked the people that I met there during the interview. I have only heard rumours that it is a bad company, and have no solid evidence.

WIBU to join?

No! What have you got to lose? Can always look for another job if its that bad!
