To come over and watch a wedding video.

Yes I was there on the day and it was lovely.

Yes the millions of photos I saw after were lovely.

However I really really do not need to relive your wedding day a good 6 months after it happend.

Aibu?

I didn't know my ex mil had secretly filmed my wedding until a year and a half after when she said casually " do you want to see the wedding DVD?" And I said cagily " who's is it?" And she laughed and said " yours"

There is another one apparently, but ex bil can't find it.

Re the OPs actual question (I got side-tracked by the knotweed thing) - no, I wouldn't go if I could avoid it. It's on a par with being forced to watch video of last year's panto or a ten year old production of "Carousel".

Last time that happened, I (shamefully) snoozed and DH had to kick me awake.

Rachel0Greep · 08/11/2015 10:02

Fuck that, I thought. I broke the DVD player. Seriously.

I'm not surprised! Grin I'd probably break the tv as well just to be on the safe side.

Ex friends brought their honeymoon photos over. An hour long slide show. Then made us sit through the cruise DVD of their honeymoon. They weren't on it. It was over an hour of stills of people posing with the captain and stock photos of the bloody ship. I have no idea why they thought we would actually want to watch it. DH and I were too polite to turn it off. So got drunk instead.

AnnPerkins. Professional knotweed killers had me proper snorting. Images of black- clad assassins clutching aerosols of Round up, sneaking up on plants. Preferably to the Bond theme. Grin

I watched my Aunts wedding video and when it came to the 'line - up' bit of the reception - when the B and G and their parents greet everyone coming in, ALL I heard was my ridiculous posho voice saying 'it's been a wonderful day so faaaaarr' like I was the fucking Queen or something!.

I think when it comes to weddings and babies some people forget that the biggest event in their lives wasn't yours too.

Went to visit my friend and baby the other day and after her showing me a few dozen photos I had to say 'I know what she looks like, she's lying on my lap!. I can see her right now in real life!'.

Decline! Does no one ever use their memory now? Everything has to be recorded.

BoyFromTheBigBadCity · 08/11/2015 16:27

A woman I am friends with on fb (for comedy value) was planning her wedding for like, 3 years - loads of posts etc. then came the day. Then obviously they were just married now. So photos of her dress being returned from the cleaners. When the pro photos came. I am expecting a mention of a video soon. It's fairly obvious she just can't let it go.

LavenderRain · 08/11/2015 16:38

Can't be as bad as the invite I got to go and watch a colleagues 3D DVD of her unborn baby.
That was a riveting evening I can tell you! Confused
