To say - check for hedgehogs!!

Sadly we do not have enough space for an actual bonfire in our garden, but have a generous friend with farmland who does, and we are heading there for bonfire night. She just texted me to say that she was checking her bonfire for hedgehogs before lighting it!!!

Does everyone know to do this already? I had no idea!!!! But I thought it was a great idea to pass on!

see... I never would have thought I was a particularly non-country sort of person. (grew up in suburbs, had a pony, go hiking, subscription to Country Living) but this was something that had never even entered my mind- and which seems so bloody obvious once pointed out!
