He's contacted me on an online dating profile twice now. I've reported him once a few weeks ago and nothing has happened with his account.

Firstly its clearly against the t&c of the app to use for selling yourself, secondly I don't need to pay for it and its pretty insulting. He may have a good body, but the face is very average.

OP posts:

OP your random question was worth it for the laughs I got at the replies. I like the 'which vegetable does he look like' game too :o

I would love to see his average face, different strokes for different folks and all that Wink.

I would love to be in the control room when the call came through...

Where else do you report illegal activity to eh?
Yes report him, he is committing an offence by soliciting.
I don't get some of the posts, do they think it is funny because its a man???

A bobfoc (body off baywatch, face off crimewatch)

I'd call 101 - maybe the phone operator is lonely and looking for some paid love action.

No law being broken. Whatever site you're on report and block most have a block function. If that doesn't work leave the site.

No he isn't, soliciting has to take place in the street or a public place.

I imagine the police would want a photo of you so that they can decide whether he is being insulting.

Hilarious, what exactly is calling 111 going to achieve??

Would be interested to know what the OP thinks the Police would actually do here? On the basis that they are swamped with the numbers accessing child abuse images, to think the Police would be interested in this is ridiculous!

Costa I'm one of the poor sods who gets all the 'OMG call 101' calls on my screen.

Shock Wtf - is a not uncommon response to these calls when they arrive

I definitely think you should call them. They will probably send an investigative team to your house to look at your online dating profile and gather all the information about him. Then they will go to his house and arrest him for this crime. You can give evidence at the trial.

Hmm

Pah . Don't ring the police - ring Trading Standards . You'll find yourself on "Rip off Britain " before you can blink .

Generally although soliciting is illegal it's unlikely anything will be done unless he is causing a public nuisance. Online doesn't really count as public (yet).

If you think there's a chance he's been trafficked or illegally pimped I suppose you could report that, but I don't know how you'd work that out or who you could report it to. And it's less likely with male sex workers, anyway.

Just block and move on.

just send us a screenshot of his face.

Someone on another thread tonight said Rob Lowe has a small head, so we need to judge.

Glad you saw sense OP and thanks for the giggles Grin. This is not a police matter, no crime being committed, unless he's sending you threats/harassing you - that might come under malicious communications I guess. Although in defence of the 'mumsnet advises calling 101 for bloody everything' brigade - sometimes it is the right thing to do! Just not for nuisance twits on online dating sites.

DEFINITELY report to the dating site though - as an online dating veteran that is Just Not On! According to some male friends, apparently it's pretty par for the course for men to receive frequent messages from female prostitutes though.

I wonder if cock shots count as sexual harassment?

Report
howtorebuild · 04/11/2015 00:35

Giglo sadly has already sent a cock shot.

Report
howtorebuild · 04/11/2015 00:35

A lying cock.
