Help please before I need a KLAXON!

It's brewing mid lower lid. Still at the Red stage.
Can I do anything to prevent it going nuclear?

Rub a clean gold ring on it? Old wives tale. I normally dab with anti bac gel. Carefully. If it gets a little bit bigger I've been known to stab it with a clean needle and squeezeBlush anyway, SOUND THE SPORN KLAXON! BiscuitBiscuitBiscuit

I was going to say the old wives tale of rubbing a gold ring on it. More pure the better (so pick 18ct over 9ct if you can). Turn it long-ways, gently rub using the flat part of the ring, turning it to keep in contact with the skin. Do it multiple times a day.

zoobaby · 03/11/2015 11:55

Was going to say it - obviously I did say it Smile

Nonnainglese · 03/11/2015 11:58

Hmm not convinced that'll do anything.....
Bathe it with salty previously boiled water, as hot as you can bear it. The pharmacist might have suggestions for creams you can use too, I think one is called Golden Eye?

Bishboshbash · 03/11/2015 12:01

Hot compress as often as you can and don't poke it/pierce it, I did this and it got infected and took almost a year to go back to normal!!
If it still doesn't go go to the GP for eye drops.

HopefulHamster · 03/11/2015 12:11

Hot compresses are best.

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 03/11/2015 12:14

I can't NOT poke and squeeze stuff....it's a compulsion Blush I drain dps blocked sebum gland on his chest regularly. It stinks. And I love doing it.

FelineLou · 03/11/2015 12:18

Ant bac eyewash like - optrex always limit mine.

OnlyHereForTheCamping · 03/11/2015 12:19

Bath in bicarbonate of soda dissolved in warm water. Repeat until gone
Wash eyelashes with baby shampoo to prevent

OnlyHereForTheCamping · 03/11/2015 12:20

Also be careful with over the counter stuff. I react really badly to the preservatives in optrex etc

Oldraver · 03/11/2015 12:23

If its in an eyelash, you can pull the eyelash out and it usually frees the stye

It doesn'y hurt like you think it would

Fieryfighter · 03/11/2015 12:40

Golden eye cream from the chemist works for me

Bimblywibble · 03/11/2015 12:42

Hot compress to help bring it to a head, multiple times per day.

I use a spoon dipped in previously boiled, hot water, hot as you can stand but be v careful not to scald yourself.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 03/11/2015 12:44

Golden eye ointment

its amazing stuff put it on tonight tomorrow you will wonder where it has gone

msrisotto · 03/11/2015 12:46

This sounds nuts but works for me....put a used cold tea bag on it for a bit

catfordbetty · 03/11/2015 12:47

If thine eye offend thee ...

SilverOldie2 · 03/11/2015 13:31

re the gold ring - lick the ring first - my Grandma taught me to do that and it worked.

AlisonWunderland · 03/11/2015 13:46

Thanks all.
Didn't realise they did made Goldeneye ointment. I'll get some on the way to see new James Bond film later!

Golden Eye Ointment is the mutts nuts. Failing that a cold, used teabag as a compress. DH treats every eye related problem on people and animals with cold tea and it does work.

bigsnugglebunny · 03/11/2015 21:30

I was coming on here to recommend teabags! I make myself a cuppa, and use the teabag hot (not hot enough to burn my eyelid though!) And the tea soothes it, and the heat brings it to a head.
