So have had a rather heated debate with my dm this evening over watching Johnathon ross on two counts...

  1. Yes I know she's had a shite load of work done but I think she looks amazing for 70
  1. She got with elvis at 14 (he was 24). I'm not saying it's dodgy but I'm saying that I'm not surprised she left him/ my mum is saying "well that's how it was back then" .... Yes it provably was , but it's not surprising it didn't work out

I think Elvis was an amazing singer and performer - but entitled, much??? There, i said it.

I suspect the GM was there to benefit Elivis as well as Priscilla. He had his virgin to mould and he was ensuring she stayed way.

Juggling - don't be so patronising about older women. We're critiquing her disastrous plastic surgery which is well documented.

iPaid · 01/11/2015 11:10

Jaclyn Smith (Charlie's Angels) and Victoria Principal (Dallas) are two other once beautiful women who have frozen their faces.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 01/11/2015 14:28

If I want to widen the discussion slightly I don't see how that's especially patronising to older women iPaid?

squoosh · 01/11/2015 15:01

Burt Reyndolds is another older star whose face looks bonkers these days from plastic surgery.

Generally I try to judge all women, as men, on more than their looks.
I was just saying this is even more the case with older women - I don't judge a 70 yr old woman on how attractive she might be but on how she's lived her life to date and on what she's doing now.

iPaid · 01/11/2015 15:30

Why do you feel it necessary to judge a 70 year old woman on that criteria more than, say, a 35, 45 or 50 year old woman? That's what I find patronising.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 01/11/2015 15:45

I judge all women, and men, on those type of wider criteria. But like the rest of society I do get a little drawn into judging younger celebrities such as actors, singers etc. according to their looks as after all that is a part of their success and attraction. It seems a particularly narrow way of judging older people who after a lifetime of experience have more interesting aspects of their personality and identity. That's why it's not patronising.

Such a shame that a once beautiful woman felt the need to go under the knife to such an extent. She would have still been beautiful without all the surgery.
