AIBU re friends?! Rant

Is it completely U to want friends who aren't bloody two faced and/or users?! seething again as in our small group of 3 I an continuously left out because I'm 'boring' or because they don't think I'd enjoy what they are doing, or the ultimate best one today I'm better off not going shopping with them because they smoke and they wouldn't want me to feel awkward any tips on finding new friends?

What sort of things are you interested in? Sports, music, reading, crafts etc - and could you use these to find some groups to join?

When we moved from the South East, to Scotland, I had to find new friends, so I joined an art class, and my residents' association, and since then I have joined a choir and a knitting group - and through those, I have made a wonderful group of friends.

Maybe you could join a book group, or a local sports club, or go and do an evening class in something that interests you - you'd be meeting people who share your interest, which is a good basis for building friendships.

Good luck with this - it is horrible feeling excluded by people you thought were friends.

YABU because your title is "re friends" these people are not friends, they sound like total bitches.

Sorry but it sounds like they are trying to phase you out and make you be the one to walk away. People who act like this are not worth your time. Find some decent people. There are some out there but there will always be dicks like your so called friends.

I had a friend. She kept removing me from conversations. I ended up having it out with her and she said she was fed up of me declining to do things with them and didn't see the point in including me so would remove me! That was the end of that friendship, I won't be treated like shit and I won't be dictated to on whether my attendance at every bloody social thing is mandatory.

Seems an odd excuse, doesn't it? Sounds as if they're not your type anyway

They are finding increasingly shit excuses not to see you because they are unpleasant people who aren't your friends. Try not to take it personally, they sound horrible.

Going to look at joining a local craft group and get myself out rather than being sat at home all day. Thank you all for the boost of clarity I needed. They are unfortunately very immature (not always a bad thing, but it is in this case) and their attitudes should have been left in the playground all those years ago.

24 and 25. Still very much in the late teen's party lifestyle, whereas I'm 25 and a home bird, nothing I like better than curling up with my DH and some books/games/watching TV.

They aren't friends.

Friends don't make you feel small, belittled or unwanted.

They like to keep you where they want you.

They have their lifestyle and you yours.

They obviously think you're too different from them but rather then say they make poor, transparent excuses.

Take control, you do not enjoy what they do and you think differently to them so leave them behind.
