Since this afternoon I have developed a horrid barking cough. I have a condition which I suspect may be related to some urinary problems, and I also suspect a prolapse since having my youngest (I should get it seen to, I know, but shhhh!)

Now when I'm coughing, bits of wee keep escaping, no matter how long it's been since I visited the loo. Blush
I don't have any pantyliners or sanitary pads, what else could I use for protection right now? I've resorted to wrapping loo roll around the gusset of my pants.

Aaaaand I really wish I had name-changed for this Blush

Had it last week. Hacking cough and went through all my pjs.

It sucks.

lostinabook · 21/10/2015 20:43

Any Muslins still knocking about. Or cut out a nappy gusset?

SaucyJack · 21/10/2015 20:46

Yup.

I prefer it when you get a cold as well cos at least then you can't smell it and can pretend it isn't happening.

Bimblywibble · 21/10/2015 20:49

Have you or DC got any old T shirts? Cut them up into rectangles. Cotton is v absorbent and much softer than loo roll. Or old towels /muslins if you have them. If you have any fleece, that would make a semi-waterproof backing to stop anything soaking through completely.

And if you feel a really big cough coming, you can always do it on the loo.

You poor sausage, hope you feel better soon.

Well i dont have any bladder problems and havent given birth vaginally and i still piss a bit when i cough really bad!

I ve got a chest infection at the moment so im coughing my guts up alot and i ve pissed alittle afew times. Its not pleasant.

Could you nip to your local shop?

JustWantToBeDorisAgain · 21/10/2015 21:02

A flannel?

You would be better off getting some tens lady tomorrow ( rather than sanitary pads)

Rather than ignoring the problem ask your GP for a referral to the continence team, there are many options to investigate how to strengthen your bladder muscles to prevent stress incontinence, and much better to start whilst you are younger than suffering in silence for years.. [ steps off soapbox]

Good lord woman get it sorted!

But in the meantime get yourself some Tena Lady. Pop a flannel or cut up an old towel to tide you over. No pun intended.

SawdustInMyHair · 21/10/2015 21:22

I get the same thing, too! Tend to be okay with some of those very slim pantyliners, but when my cough was at its worst I wore a full size one just so I wouldn't panic when I was out. I'd rather be able to relax (socially, not just letting it all go!).

I tend to get worse as a cough goes on, like it's wearing away at my pelvic floor :(

If I'm caught short I just use loo roll, but longer term some liners or fabric would be besy. You can get fabric liners too!

greenhill · 21/10/2015 21:26

You need the poster formerly known as gussie grips to tweet you pelvic floor exercises.

You need to sort this, sooner rather than later.

Much sympathy though, a bad cough isn't fun at the best of times Flowers
