Firstly, thank you for your messages on my other thread. "Social Service Involvement"

The SW asked if I would consent to a "Family Group Conference", which I did.

My question is.... Is a Family Group Conference always only arranged with the view of a Child Protection Plan being imminent or is it something that is used in lots of circumstances? Thanks.

We had one for my 13 year old ds a few years ago.
It was more of an intervention so everyone in the family could discuss problems.
Try to stop him truanting and getting into trouble.
He was running away a lot.
I haven't read your other thread so I don't know if my information is relevant.

I haven't read your other thread either, but if I had child protection concerns I'd be arranging an initial child protection conference. An FGC is very different, and in the few that I've attended the familkes have found it very beneficial.
