No school places

Have been offered good job in new town but there are no school places in any decent schools! AIBU to not move on this basis? Its freaking me out!!

YABU - okay there may be absolutely no school places, but the LA will have to find you a place/places for your DC. If they are in years higher than year 2 this will be easier, as you can even appeal for the schools you want, and may get a place.

Also what grounds are you using to judge which schools are decent?

My DDs very oversubscribed and definitely full school took a new pupil in her year this week (it's even an academy so not totally in LA control). It happens fairly frequently, as new pupils in the area have to be found a school place.
Also what schools have a place now may not be the same ones that have a place when you move. School places have to be accepted pretty quickly.
