I park in a side street when I go to work. There are no long stay car parks within a 1/2 mile radius of work- and it costs the grand sum of £9 a day to park there all day if you want to.

Its a semi decent area. But I keep getting approached by drunken men wanting to walk to the car with me, smackheads asking for spare change and just general weirdos lottering around my car.

How can I stop looking like an obviously easy target? I hardly dress "flash", wear very cheap lookingn jewellery and rarely use a flash handbag

Are you sure these "weirdos" aren't just naice people trying to dissuade you from cluttering up their street? (Yah, yah, I know it's your right blah blah!)

Presumably if there's no parking at your work others must have the same problem. Where does everyone else park? Could you arrange with a friend that you'll try to park on the same street and walk back to your cars together?

I expect the residents of the street you're parking in hire them from central casting to keep down the congestion.
