To not slow below the speed limit when going past a speed camera

This happens all the time at a camera near me, its obviously 40 with signs near the speed camera saying so. But still people slow down to 20-28mph and create a bit of a queue. I've never been caught by one, so when its clear I just maintain my speed at about 42 mph as I know my speedo over reads by this. Its just wasting time a fuel for everyone by having to slow down there.

They are being silly right?

MrsAdorabella - we tried that but our rather obstructive Parish Council blocked all moves to do it. The PC seem to do the opposite of what they are supposed to round here, the head of it seems hell bent on pissing everybody off. She deliberately obstructs anything that wasn't her idea in the first place or won't get her personal glory. It's a rather frustrating situation. I suggested some simple ideas at the last PC meeting and got a rather rude and nasty response. The police say we have to do it in conjunction with the PC. We can't win.

The ones which really annoy me are the people on the motorway who can't tell the difference between a HATO vehicle and a police vehicle. I was nearly involved in an accident two years ago when some idiot slammed their brakes on in the outside lane when they spotted a HATO cruising along the inside lane, reducing their speed to under 50mph. The car behind them tried to swerve lanes to avoid hitting them and nearly hit me instead (middle lane, still doing 70mph).

Wonkey could you put up those detectors with an unhappy face? I rarely get caught out by one but always feel awful when created with a :(
