I'm probably being petty, and I know you will all put me straight

I made a load of buns for DS1 to take to Cubs (parents take it in turns and then kids buy buns to raise money) which is fine, I will take my turn.

DS1 comes home from Cubs (we take it in turns with lifts) and said they didn't give them out as they are saving them for next weeks party! They are going to be over a week old!

If I had known, I would have made them next week instead! Or sent in shop bought ones with a longer date.

Instead I have made a load of buns and wasted money on something which will be moldy by next week! Instead of nice and fresh today I know I'm probably being unreasonable, just feeling a bit annoyed that I made the effort to buy the stuff and make 3 batches of cakes!

It depends, did they ask for them for this week?

Yes I was on this weeks rota, not bothered when I make them, would have done next week if they had asked for that instead!

Surely you could contact them and advise them to freeze the buns for a week if you don't think they'll keep. Buns freeze and defrost fine.

unless they are freezing them they will be bad and stale or mouldy

Ugh! IF the leader is taking them home to freeze then they will probably be ok. Surely they couldn't be silly enough to think they can just stick them in a tin for the week? And why do they need your buns for next week's party? Isn't someone else providing buns next week anyway?

It's annoying but you fulfilled your obligation - let Akela deal with bun distribution.
