I bought some mugs last week in the Habitat sale. I also bought a pack of coasters.

A few days later the delivertly arrived and contained the coasters but no mugs. Rang them up and got a vague explanation that someone must have forgotten to pack them. They'd send out replacements.

A few more days later a Yodel fella knocks on my door and hands me a suspiciously rattly parcel. Mugs are broken into a thousand pieces.

Rang Habitat again, they say they'll send replacements. A few days later these arrive. All sorted. I'm a bit miffed that a purchase which should have taken a few days ended up taking over a week but hey ho.

Until this morning when two MORE mugs turn up. I can only assume they sent them accidentally.

Should I keep them or attempt to return?

For the record , I don't believe in karma .

When I was a week away from giving birth and Argos sent me a DVD player instead of a box of mugs, and the delivery guy wouldn't let let me refuse delivery, meaning that I would have had to carry it two miles to return it, while on the verge of going into labour, I decided to keep it.

Maybe the extra mugs were a goodwill gesture to compensate for your mugless week? Now if another one breaks you won't be stuck without a mug.

Wasn't there a thread here where a woman had some coats from Matalan? As I recall everyone jumped on her and called her a thief etc etc. But keeping mugs is suddenly OK? So one poster keeps something she didn't pay for, she's awful, this OP keeps something she hasn't paid for, she's fine?

Of course you don't send them back. There is no reason you should incur costs to put right Habitat's mistake.

What you do is ring them and say they have sent extra, and they will be available for Habitat to collect. The overwhelming likelihood is that they will tell you to hang on to them. In any case, if they are not collected within a specific time (I think it is 2 weeks, possibly 4) they become yours anyway.

Keep- you'd be a mug not to.

The Matalan coat thread was bonkers. It never ceases to amaze me the bollix people post on here that they'd never do in rl. Keep the mugs op, it's no big deal.
