To be obsessed by a blackhead?

DaimYou · 05/10/2015 21:13

DS1 has had a huge really properly black blackhead in his right ear for weeks.

He sits to my left at the dinner table in it has been taunting me.

This weekend I bribed him to let me have it Blush and in meetings today my mind was wandering while I re-lived the experience.

Where does one get help for this kind of thing?

Oh that video is amazing Ronald.

I have one of those blackhead removing tools. MN made me buy it. It's great though maybe not quite as satisfying as getting in there with your nails and fingers. DP lets me pick over him with. And I paid DS a fiver to let me get his ear blackheads. Good times.

Ipigglemustdie · 06/10/2015 09:07

Ooh where can I get one of the metal puss pusher things??

ilovechristmas123 · 06/10/2015 09:41

just ordered the blackhead remover tool on ebay Grin my son has one by his nose and my nails are to long to get a decent grip,im hoping for great things

RumbleMum · 06/10/2015 12:27

Lunchpack, I had one like that. I actually felt it break open under high pressure and had to clean the whole mirror. It was ten years ago and I still regularly think about it ... The scarring took six months to heal, but it was worth it.

RumbleMum · 06/10/2015 12:28

Ps OP, YANBU.

TerryTylerlikesaTiger · 06/10/2015 12:59

Oh man that video, there was a whole minute dedicated one nose!
Reminds me of when we thought my Dad was developing a tumour on the side of his face / nose. It grew and grew until finally he went to the Dr, only to be told it was a zit. He didn't let us see its grand unveiling - so tempted to go NC for that reason Angry

Lj8893 · 06/10/2015 13:06

That video is amazing. I want one of those blackhead remover tools, where do I get one?!

Lj8893 · 06/10/2015 13:07

Ah sorry just rtft and am now off to eBay!

BiggaBanga · 06/10/2015 13:33

Ye gods, you lot are disgusting! I've just finished my lunch three times!

Aramynta · 06/10/2015 13:41

Not unreasonable. DS has one on his chin. I have to wait until he is asleep to extract them though Blush

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 06/10/2015 13:53

definitely not unreasonable. My dp had a black head in his ear that I tried to get at and failed several times due to position, it was one of the greatest achievements when I finally got it out with the inner tube of a bic biro (these make great blackhead tools) it was at least 1.5cm long. Slightly disappointed it never made a re-appearance !

ilovechristmas123 · 06/10/2015 13:54

did you order one Lj8893

KoalaDownUnder · 06/10/2015 14:12

Dear sweet baby Jesus, how could you let your nose get into that state?!?!

KoalaDownUnder · 06/10/2015 14:13

and then let someone else have all the fun

onecurrantbun1 · 06/10/2015 14:14

I once went out with a man with a recurring carbuncle on his neck.

Reader, I married him

LisbethSalandersLaptop · 06/10/2015 14:21

ooooh currantbun - what a treat!

OP if it helps, I still obsess about a boil on my 'third eye' that popped audibly and made the mirror shake, on the first squeeze (there were to be more!).
honestly I think about it every day and it was 24 years ago Grin

ilovechristmas123 · 06/10/2015 14:31

i cant believe people walk round like that, though there was a older man in a pub i visited and the blackhead was huge,i was itching to get rid,it must have taken years to cultivate

murphys · 06/10/2015 14:46

You don't need one of those tools. All you need is a syringe.

Dd had this blackhead for months in the corner of her nose, and it got so bad that I couldn't look at her without a glance at her sister as it was fondly named-. No amount of squeezing or strips was going to remove that bugger as it was just in an awkward spot. Out came the syringe, one suction and it got sucked straight out. Never mind that the contents nearly filled the syringe ok I exaggerate--, but what a pleasing experience. Just tried it with ds the other night, granted it was more difficult trying to sit on top of a displeased 16 year old as I came in armed with my syringe...

And we have all had one of those painful blind spots haven't we. You know the ones with no head, and you think to yourself, "I will just have a wee squeeze of it whilst looking at it in the mirror here", to which you find the most excruciating pain as the contents fly out and hit the mirror at light speed. Oh, the satisfaction...

murphys · 06/10/2015 14:47

oops strikeout fail....

ARichVernacular · 06/10/2015 14:56

My ex of 20+ years ago had a magnificent ear blackhead that he let me squeeze after months of badgering. Ah, sweet memories.

PeopleLieActionsDont · 06/10/2015 15:05

That doctor loves her job! That man was more spot than nose!

ilovechristmas123 · 06/10/2015 15:05

ha ha ive grappled with my son and pinned him down before to get at his zits/blackheads 16yrs also

Lj8893 · 06/10/2015 15:10

I did christmas only a cheaply £1 one though. Can't wait to try it out!

EponasWildDaughter · 06/10/2015 15:23

My best ever was on DH's back when we were on one of our first dates.

I had my hand up his t-shirt and was seductively stroking his (lovely) back while waiting for a taxi in the dark. I suddenly felt a lump. I knew what it was.

Then the rest is a blur; but i ended up up his t-shirt which got yanked up his back with him whimpering as i attacked the spot.

Out came the most amazing whole hard lump of ... what ever it is that makes a spot. It was the size of my little finger nail and perfectly egg shaped! I flicked it away in the dark.

He was Hmm and i was Grin.

The hole left behind bled a lot and stained the t-shirt Blush
I told him i thought it must have been a splinter ... he believed me!

ChoclolateOrange · 06/10/2015 15:23

The only fond memory I have of my exH is him allowing me to squeeze the most enormous blackhead on his shoulder which he couldnt get to himself. It even had foreign body in it. I often re live it, which I cant say I do for any other memory of the relationship! Grin
