What cake can surely beat Lemon Drizzle Cake?
Carrot cake follows as a close second obviously!

Nigella's birthday custard sponge with gooey chocolate topping is the best for a sugar high.
If you're being more classy, a marbled chocolate ring (with orange in the non-chocolate batter) wins hands down.
Early Grey cupcakes are pretty bloody excellent too.

The trick Chillyegg I've found is to cook it on a lower heat 150-180 for longer. It can take over an hour.

I'm having a go at baking rum cake tomorrow for our office bake off. Fell in love with it in Barbados.

All cake is good except cake that contains vegetables. That includes ginger cake as ginger is a root, and by definition must be a vegetable. Ginger in any form is rank. I am scared of carrot cake as I once had it with ginger in it.

good chocolate cake (without fruit of any kind). Don't ever have the costco one. It's covered with lardy brown grease and not any kind of icing that I know of.
