to think being a paedophile isn't a crime?

KissingFish · 30/09/2015 11:04

I see posts from people both on here and other places (Facebook) about how paedophiles should all be killed and confusing the terms paedophile and child molester / child abuser.

They're not the same thing and honestly I don't think being a paedophile is a crime. It is a sexual orientation that nobody chooses to be born with. The same way people are born straight or gay.

Just because someone is a paedophile it doesn't mean they have acted on it and so it doesn't mean they are a child molester.

Surely if we all accepted that paedophilia is a sexual orientation we could help these people before they commit a crime. Before they act on it. I bet there are a LOT more paedophiles out there than we know about. They just don't act on it because they know it's wrong to act on it.

I am of course not saying being sexually attracted to children is a good thing or that it should ever be OK to act on it. No way. Just that I don't think people choose to be a paedophile and it must be pretty scary to realise you are attracted to children. Much the same way it used to be about being gay. And I don't imagine you can just ask friends, family or many people actually for help and advice.

I think in order to deal with a problem you need to understand it first.

I am willing to be convinced otherwise though if anyone has a good argument?

Disclaimer: I am not a paedophile, I just don't believe they are all evil.

Discuss away Lurking, but please don't drag me into it.

Sorry for forcing you to reply to me. By all means report me to MNHQ. In the meantime I'll carry on trying to keep within the parameters of the OPs question. Unlikely we'll cross paths in future if you stick to ignoring that, as you suggest.

For the love of all that is holy, Lily, I am not advocating having oral sex with children or would think it was harmless, I sincerely doubt ItsAllGoingToBeFine is either. He/she WAS TALKING ABOUT WHAT PAEDOPHILES THINK. This "if you even try to explain how their thought processes work or imagine what might be going through their head, you're ONE OF THEM, you sick twisted fuck" schtick is getting very very old.

FWIW, I believe ItsAllGoingToBeFine was replying to a comment about how paedophiles horribly physically injure children that they abuse, and was observing that child abusers who physically injure children generally aren't paedophiles. Which was not to say that paedophiles who abuse children aren't abusers.

hairbrushbedhair · 30/09/2015 16:37

*spearheading a mission to soften our approach to paedophiles by choosing to remind us that 'oral sex and masturbation' with our children would not damage or injure them

For. Fuck's. Sake. That's. Not. What. He/she. Said.

They said that most paedophiles who abuse children (as opposed to some of the other sick fuck variety of child abusers) would have oral sex and masturbation as their sex acts because it would not PHYSICALLY injure the child, as their deluded belief would be that they were in a romantic/consensual relationship with the child. Key word: PHYSICALLY. Nothing about whether it would psychologically damage them, or whether it was child abuse, or whether it was wrong, ALL OF WHICH THE POSTER ADMITTED WAS THE CASE.

If I was the original poster there I'd be absolutely livid.*

Agree with Leedy. The poster who said this certainly implied the child would of course be psychologically damaged by this act. They referred to the deluded beliefs of such pedophiles. I can't see how their post equated them to being pro-pedophiles

It is possible for people to disagree with you without being paedophiles you know!

I'm getting bored reporting your posts now....

I think having oral sex with a child would damage the child 'physically' it would make them violently sick for one.

Doubtful. Remember this child will have been groomed to "love" and trust the perpetrator. They may have a vague sense of wrongness but that would be a massive overreaction for them Remember children are naturally innocent and trusting and loving - they don't see it as wrong in the same way as an adult would.

This www.amazon.co.uk/Tiger-A-Memoir-Margaux-Fragoso/dp/0241950155 is a very very good book written by someone who was abused by child. She describes the confused feelings of the child perfectly. Warning: if you have been abused yourself it is very uncomfortable reading.

IKnowIAmButWhatAreYou · 30/09/2015 16:40

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE DOWN THIS DISCUSSION.

Or you could leave and it'll go back to being a discussion rather than an arena for your lunatic rantings....

IKnowIAmButWhatAreYou · 30/09/2015 16:41

You will get the thread deleted any minute now..

That's the aim I think...

No one can be that thick in real life.....

Sparkyduchess · 30/09/2015 16:41

Lily, are you seriously that hard of thinking? Nobody here is saying that ANY sex act with a child is right, the comment which so offends you was suggesting how a paedophile might view it.

MySordidCakeSecret · 30/09/2015 16:42

lily is right, that post made for some very distressing reading.

Meerka · 30/09/2015 16:43

lily if this thread is making you sick, then go and do something else. You don't come over as being able to think about this in a rational manner, and you're twisting what's been said.

You nailed your colours to the flagpole when you said that paedophiles should be killed, I think that you didn't really need to add anything beyond that. Though some of your posts have been unintentionally rather funny.

lilycabbagerocks · 30/09/2015 16:43

I am checking out now.

It is very worrying that Leedy and others feel they can post, but I have reported them directly. I no longer wish to be part of this horrible thread.

leedy · 30/09/2015 16:45

I am still very bemused as to what terrible atrocity I have committed.

lilycabbagerocks · 30/09/2015 16:46

mysordid thank you so much buddy. We are surrounded!! So to speak. Does not make for pretty reading today!

It'sallgoingtobefine can you please not speculate and explore the fine details of specific child abuse, it is sickening and distressing.

hairbrushbedhair · 30/09/2015 16:48

Everyone can tell the pervy uncle, the weird grandad that always wants you to sit on his lap. It is often not obvious agreed, look at Rolf Harris, but often it is obvious. Gut reaction. The paedophiles I have met in my line of work have always had this 'look' about them on the segregation wing.

No everyone can't tell. Children cant. And nor can a lot of adults - Rolf Harris, Jimmy Saville, etc were all household names and did kids shows. The parents who allowed their kids to participate and watch the shows certainly couldn't tell. Nor could the councils and governments who named buildings and hospital wings after them.

Nor is every wierd looking person as pedophile. In fact some very attractive ones exist, the lost prophets guy was a handsome one in many women's eyes before they found out

MySordidCakeSecret · 30/09/2015 16:48

and it's not necessary.

No one can be that thick in real life.....

Clearly a younger poster there.

No only can people be that thick in real life. They can exceed it by a country mile.

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity ....

MySordidCakeSecret · 30/09/2015 16:50

husband are you ever going to add something to the thread or just be a GF.

You seem to think you are of superior intelligence, i won't add comment as it will just get deleted.

OfaFrenchmind2 · 30/09/2015 16:51

Hey ItsAllGoing, you are back!

Could you please confirm that mutual masturbation and oral sex is abuse, and any paedophile doing that with a child is actually a scummy abuser please? I just want to see you confirm it, rather than letting leedy give her own sensible explanation.
