A box of table mats dropped on my foot in Morrisons.

About an hour ago in Morrisons I was looking at some coasters when a box with about 5 packs of table mats landed on my foot. It was very painful and now my foot is slightly swollen. Should I let them know or is there no point.

How did the accident happen? And are you asking because you expect them to compensate you, or just to let them know it's a hazard??

Were the boxes stacked dangerously? Did you knock them when you were looking at the coasters? What is the purpose of you letting them know?

To let them know it was a hazard. I hadn't touched the box, I think it was badly stacked. I don't think they should be in a box then so many wouldn't have dropped at once iyswim.

depends, do you think the box was left in a dangerous position by an employee, or could have reasonably been seen by an employee and rectified? or was it 'just dumped by a customer' - or did you yourself knock it off?

is there any danger that this could repeat and hit someone else? or (got to ask as its a forum) are you just hoping for some compensation?

No I really don't expect compensation, I just wonder if I'd sound stupid phoning them to tell them.

TBH, I think the time to have told them was whilst you were in the store.

It needs to go in their accident book 0 however it happened. You should have reported it whilst still in store - no harm doing it now instead though.

i'd give them a call (or email) , if you can remember where they were, so they can check its all ok and pop in their accident book

Yes I wish I'd mentioned it in the store but I was in a bit of a rush, i think I will call them then. Thank you.

You should let them know for the accident book - also it's worth bringing to their attention so they stack better!

I'm going to go in tomorrow. My foot is now swollen as well.
