AIBU to not be bothered about morning showers? (Light hearted!)

Apparently, (light hearted banter with friends) it is weird that I don't shower every morning. I am not that bothered, and I don't have time.

HOWEVER, I do shower every night, and every time I exercise and when I feel I need it. I also change my bedding every week, and my clothes every day (at least).

I can't stand the idea of being dirty in my clean bed, even worst after commuting or being outside. No, I really don't think I smell!

Am I being THAT gross?

I shower twice a day especially in the summer months or after the gym, morning shower is normally a quick 2 minuet shower to wash myself as I sweat quite a bit in bed but night time is where I wash my hair, shave etc.

Showers are how I get ready. My hair is too fine to sleep in it overnight without it going flat and shapeless. But it's a once a day affair.

Sometimes I do a quick blast of room temp water in the summer if it's really hot out, but not a full on shower with soap and hair care.

Shadowfax....well spotted.....only noticed that after I'd posted.....clearly "get up" should have been "get dressed" (and my brain was asleep before my body.... Shock )

Toast but the gym people will be showering after the gym won't they?

So the next day they will have had a shower within the previous 24 hours and be going off to get sweaty and then shower afterwards so no shower needed before the gym surely?

dangerrabbit · 26/09/2015 08:04

Another one who doesn't get the point of showering before you go to the gym. Surely what is needed is to shower afterwards rather than before. Do you mean that you shower 3 times a day? That is incredibly wasteful and bad for the environment.

I'm with the people who need to shower to feel awake. And I also have one in the evening to make me feel warm and sleepy. I am a hot water addict, and yes, my skin is too dry. It's more about comfort than cleanliness for me.

I feel better if I shower in the morning, especially since I have really greasy hair, but I have been known to skip once (maybe twice in a bad week!) a shower and use dry shampoo spray if in a rush or DS won't let me out of his sight long enough to have one.

I do feel sticky if I don't shower but get over it soon enough.

If I shower and wash hair at night I would have to blow dry before bed or I end up with crazy bed hair that can't even be wet and re-done the next morning. I also tend to sweat quite a bit which means I still feel dirty by morning even though it's less than 12 hours.

After all that though, I mostly only wash with water (and shampoo in hair) unless I know I'm particularly smelly. Much better for my sensitive skin.

Everyone has their own routine. I have to shower in a morning partly to wake me up and partly because i have short hair. Look like a cross between Elvis n Sid Viscious in a morning and wetting it isn't the same.
Rest of family are evening baths/ showers. Dds as their hair takes ages to dry n dh after work.

I'm an evening showerer too - habit from working in kitchens all day, need to get that chip grease/cooked fish smell/whatever out at the end of the day.

I really don't believe the pint if sweat a night thing - apart from after having a baby. Now they were night sweats, and of course just when you're at your least able to just have a shower whenever you care Grin
