To be panicking about Christmas already!

I'm really panicking, keep making and re-making lists, trying to price it up etc and doing daily checks on my bank account in the hope that my saving have got amorous and made money babies - to no avail.

Seriously though, I mentioned it a another mum in the playground today, and they replied why?

Is anyone else panicking?! A month or so ago i was thinking it's not a big deal, I know how to do this, just a fancy roast dinner and some presents for the kids.. then now I've started to have a look around and work out the finer details, and it's hundreds! the kids aren't too bad but partner and family, foodcombined is getting me worried big time about finances. My savings plans seemed good until i saw how many pay days there actually are til crimbo, and it doesn't help my dp is hopeless!

I don't think yabu at all. I've definitely started to think about putting some money aside now so it's not such a shock come December. I bet most people on a budget will be the same. If people have plenty of money, I guess it's not something they worry about at all.

I have a tin that I save all the 2 euro coins in, and any extra I have, not much usually but it all helps, I also save on my tesco clubacard, I think I'll have around 150 on that so between tesco and the tin that is my Xmas budget, my ds1 birthday at Xmas also but he is an adult and my ds2 is fourteen, I won't open the tin until my vouchers are issued from tesco and then I'll start shopping.

But I don't think yabu to start now if that's what will help you.

Thank you for the wonderful advice everyone! and thank you for my invite to the christmas topic Grin

Kids are 5 yrs and 5 months, it's the skylanders that's got it started expensive, and i've had to do a winter clothes shop for the kids so that's set my savings back to £50!

Great advice though I'm feeling more positive now Smile
