my friend (A) confessed to me the other day that she has done an anonymous online report on another friend (B) for benefit fraud (living with her dp)

(A) has done it out of spite as (B) owes her money which she is paying back slowly £10 a week. (A) doesn't think its enough but (B) says that's all she can afford

if ((B) has done nothing wrong (which I doubt she has as as far as I know she doesn't live with her dp) then (B) will be still in the shit as her money will be stopped while the DSS look into it. which takes for ever and there is all sorts of humiliation and hoop jumping to go through

i think (A) should have just minded her own business, i think she has done it out of pure spite. and I wish she hadn't told me, I feel horrible knowing as I know that any day (B) is going to get the dreaded brown envelope. I have been there when i hadnt done anything wrong and its fucking horrible

they have been friends for years ffs

Hurrah, Cat, that completely nullifies A's shitstirring effort! She must be upset about this, but it's 100% the kind of thing you need to know about your 'friends'.

CatEyeFlick · 26/09/2015 10:22

i know Garrick ...I bet the dss will look at the report and just go Confused "erm, yeah we know she is living with her dp as she has told us! NEXT!."

was awful to see her face though when I told her :( but she was glad to know

So the 'grassing' friend was right then
No, because they had informed the DWP of the situation, so the grassing friend was grassing nothing and should have been sure of her 'facts' before she took action.

When the MPs who commited fraud got away with it by blaming it on their accountants and such like it was never deemed that serious regarding prosecutions, most of them got off scott free. Therefore I will follow their example and refuse to ever take much notice if any of us commoners do similar. They did it through pure greed, yet they expect us to phone up the awful benefit fraud hotlines and grass some poor bugger up if we have the slightest suspicion of them, thereby wrecking many people's lives. I for one would never do their dirty work, so yanbu for feeling less of this friend for her shameful act. Apert from anything else she's got less chance than ever now of getting her money back. Disgusting behaviour.

This exactly ^

Mates don't grass each other up. Where I'm from ur friend would have got a kickin for that. Phil Mitchell has joined Mumsnet everybody! Seriously Phil, your un-dead Ex wife's back on the square, that's where your attention should be focussed.

CatEyeFlick · 28/09/2015 21:00

yep riverwalk exactly

no one ever does anything about those grasping fuckers
