... To wish I'd been videoing this incident for you lot.

Side of my fingernail has been hurting for days, I picked at it a few days ago and a load of hard skin developed. Tonight it was really painful but with no obvious cause, so being the grim beast I am, I sterilised a needle and started poking it.

Poke.

NOTHING.

Then, scratch-slide-accidental poke, and a GALLON of thick greeny-yellow pus came shooting out. So I squeezed it and out shot another gallon.

Seriously, I have no idea where it was hiding because my finger wasn't swollen, but the relief is IMMENSE.

I'm so happy I can go to sleep with a non painful finger, plus the joyous memories of an epic pus-splosion, so happy that I wanted to share the joy.

Aaah, I've had something like that!

I picked the skin too far down on my finger which became infected.

When the pain became unbearable I placed my finger into a bowl of hot boiled water and stuck a sterilised needle into the centre.

The green gunk came out like a long thin wriggling worm and was one of the most satisfying things I've witnessed

This happened to my toe when I was about 12. Like your finger, it wasn't swollen enough that you'd expect such an explosion. Just happened the once and was fine after that.

I had a hang nail once that I allowed to fester as I was on a ski-ing holiday. (No pharmacy nearby and I wore the same sweaty gloves every day). A few days later we went to stay with SIL, who is a nurse. She took me straight to the doctor as the swelling had spread more than half way to my elbow.

There were days of pus-squeezing glory out of that one.

angel, the mere idea of wringing pus out of my nail from halfway down my arm has made my bleary eyed morning, thank you!

I squeezed a spot on my shoulder once and the gunk came out under so much pressure it shot up and hit the ceiling. Soooo satisfying to watch. Not so much fun to clean up.

I ended up having to have an x-Ray on mine to ensure the infection hadn't gone to the bone .
The Dr lanced it and I left hospital with my arm strapped up to my shoulder and unable to drive! Considering I went in with just a plaster and feeling like a total fraudster I felt somewhat vindicated although very embarrassed.

So, if I think it's happening again (as I am prone to biting the skin around my fingers ) I put some tea tree cream/oil on it. Or Sudocrem.

I do enjoy a good squeeze and OP's sounds fantastic (said in a Christopher Ecclestone Dr Who voice)!

Where's your Klaxon OP!? I would have arrived earlier

I struggled with plasters and antiseptic cream for weeks on an in-growing toe nail a few years ago. In the end i attacked it with a sterilised needle. The relief immediate, just as you describe, and the gunk was 10 times as much as i expected.

My best sporn pleasure these days comes from a recurring spot on DHs back near his shoulder blade. A large hard lump comes out whole like a pea; leaving a round hole - Every Time. I have to deal with it once a month or so.

Previous to this one was the famous spot of 2014. Near his spine halfway down. That kept me and DD1 (teen) entertained for two evenings before it was empty. Loads of gunk every squeeze. Shots into the air. Everything Lots of ewwwwings and ahhhhings from me and DD and lots of bad language from DH. Sadly that one never returned :(

I had the hangnail one too, it was so swollen and throbbing and green I had to go to a&e
I can't give any details, as once they numbed my finger ( that bloody hurt! ) and said they would be cutting away my nail bed I went a bit clammy and had to look away!!
But I can tell you, the 2 Dr's plus the nurse who came 'to have a look, never seen one like this before' all oohed when it was cut into.

How do I deal with this one though ... I have a old earring hole in my ear that every few months gets hard and infected until I move it about a bit and loads of gunk comes out - satisfying! I am wondering why it keeps happening though?

Grossest one? My middle DS had a massive boil like spot in his forehead for months and we tried but couldn't get it to pop.
One day at soft play i go to pick him up and just about brushed his forehead against my front as I'm getting him and it just popped, it literally gushed. I still feel icky about that one and have hated soft play since!
