Not an AIBU but I need some help. Am going to an engagement party and do not know what to get the couple. They live with his parents but are looking to move to their own place soon. Do not want to spend much as we are having to travel across country to go to the party. Does anyone have any ideas???

I'd just go with a bottle of wine for an engagement party. Leave the real gift for the wedding.

PHANTOMnamechanger · 19/09/2015 20:47

I would do wine or champers TBH

Do people really expect engagement gifts? Cards yes, gifts no.

A his'n'hers night in hamper? Beer, wine, chocolates and a lovefilm voucher. Pretty cheap to put together if you do it yourself.

I once had such a dilemma.

I found a boxed gift set of two nice glasses with half a bottle of champagne. I got that. As far as I know it went down OK.

Bottle of Champers if anything. I don't think engagement presents are a 'thing' anymore? (we were given 2 bottles of champagne, one each from our closest friends).
