Night out without kids

We have children and I am pregnant and due in a few months. I just had this conversation with Dh:

Me: Shall I get a babysotter to watch kids next weekend so we can go out for a drink?
Dh: No.point going out, you can't drink so waste of money. Let's just watch a film at home.
Me: but we have had just three nights out alone since we had children (8 years), and with new baby it will be ages til we can again. Would you like to do something else?
Dh: Nah, not bothered.

I am hormonal and frumpy so may be being unreasonable, but feel hurt that he isn't bothered about having a chance for a last evening out.
WIBU to still arrange babysitter and go out with friends instead??

Not U at all. From experience you have to grab these chances when you get them!

Enjoy yourself!!

Why arrange a sitter when you have a husband at home?!

DamsonInDistress · 19/09/2015 18:51

You don't need a baby sitter to go out with friends, your husband should be perfectly capable surely?

DamsonInDistress · 19/09/2015 18:51

But yes, go!

StealthPolarBear · 19/09/2015 18:52

Yanbu but tbh when I was pregnant I had no desire for a night out. If you do fine but as a pp says why do you need a sitter?

CarolPeletier · 19/09/2015 18:52

I guess just in case he stops being a grump.and decides to come too... I really do want some time with him where I have dressed up and am not being 'mum' and dreary housewife for a few hours.

I'd be upset at DH for that attitude too.

But I would go out with my friends if he can't be bothered.

CarolPeletier · 19/09/2015 18:54

When I say night out, I mean a couple of orange juices at my local :-)

And I wouldn't be booking a babysitter, he must be perfectly capable of looking after his own child.

Junosmum · 19/09/2015 18:58

Grrr. Husband is an idiot!

GloGirl · 19/09/2015 18:59

No. I would tell him you're going out with your girlfriends and then book a sitter for another night and tell your 'D'H his attendance is mandatory. Could you do a different date though, maybe the cinema?
