AIBU to buy stuff for baby right before her birthday

I'm horribly indulgent and have bought her a whole load of stuff recently. It's only a few days before her birthday and I couldn't resist but family is really annoyed

Whose baby? How old? Whose family?

If baby is young it's prob a waste of money. If it's not your baby is probably as they got lots of stuff already

Well are they annoyed because some of them have bought the same things?
When buying things for my son right before his birthday I find it helps just to do a quick ring around and double check that I'm not stepping on any toes.

Why not keep them to give as b.day presents?

I have a rule that I never buy myself anything just before my birthday. Because I have ended up buying aometjing sh has bought me.

I assume they are extended family that are annoyed because it's stuff they have bought to. Tbh, really you can do what you want (assumin it's your own baby) but it is quite inconsiderate.
