I mean, why do it? All it takes is one thing to go slightly wrong and that's the end. All just to get more Instagram followers?

I feel sorry for their mums.

There is one by a young girl who climbed up one, dropped something and then she fell and grabbed onto an electric cable or similar as she did and died instantly. Horrific. Another one doing a backflip high up mistimed it and fell.

I don't get why they do it. I get sweaty palms just talking about it!

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes · 06/09/2015 21:04

I wouldn't say they have mental health problems more they like to live life on the edge, adrenaline junkies.

It makes me go weak at the knees just looking at the picture but then I'm the same about fair ground rides.

Samcro · 06/09/2015 21:06

Nomthey dont have mh problems

ProudAS · 06/09/2015 21:06

I think you've hit the nail on the head Ignore - then there's the feeling of indestructability that some people seem to have.

TenForward82 · 06/09/2015 21:09

That's natural selection in action. No sympathy from me.

I say mental health problems as something has got to be wired incorrectly for them to do that. Mh is a very broad umbrella.

Its totally normal to be scared of heights.

Thank god I haven't seen any of the videos where someone dies, but this kind of "hobby" has to have a high mortality rate.

Yes, I think they have some issues they need to sort out.

There's free running and climbing but some of them have taken it to the extreme and beyond. It's not big and it's not clever.

ProudAS · 06/09/2015 21:57

Natural selection could actually be to blame. We are descended from individuals who took risks which paid off.

RachelZoe · 06/09/2015 23:57

Stupidity is not the same as having a MH problem. These people are stupid, there are risks and then there are RISKS, calculated risks are fun, this stuff is ridiculous.

DS has a boy in his boarding house at school who does similar, not full cranes but big stuff, houses etc, we've known him since pre school, his mother was a hoverer, that child was never, ever allowed to fall over/get hurt/learn the consequences of his actions, I would bet my left leg most of them have had similar parenting. No regard for their own safety at all.

bettyberry · 07/09/2015 00:11

Its the adrenaline rush. The fear and excitement all in one of standing there knowing you are the only one there, anything could happen. I love it! Not that I have stood on a crane like this but I have climbed one harnessed and its an incredible feeling being so high up. You really do look like tiny ants from that high up.

Have none of you stood at the top of a building and looked over the edge and felt all of that?

I think the closest I have come to it is trail running and breaking my record. Not the same but close.

I don't get the same rush from being in caves, tunnels or quarries. There I get the fear. I am a little claustrophobic but not so bad that I can't walk through them. I am very cautious of the spaces though and will not, Never ever EVER crawl through a space without a hell of a lot of room around me.

KanyeWestPresidentForLife · 07/09/2015 00:46

Jesus Christ. My husband works with cranes, I wouldn't want him dealing with a crane that some dipshit had been fucking around with. It's not just a matter of putting themselves at risk, if those cranes are interfered with they could potentially cause a serious accident for people working with them, those on the site or even passers by. Stupid, stupid, selfish little shits.

Glasgoow · 07/09/2015 07:12

Berry you are doing it allowed and with safety equipment, basically your talking about climbing and I agree that is fun. However what they are doing is totally different.

As kanye says they could be risking others, they don't know that the crane is safe they are trespassing early in the morning.
