What's wrong with Asda nappies?

Cos according to the packet I've just bought, they're only approved by the mums of Mumsnet.

Very, very disappointed in Justine et al for supporting tired, sexist packaging blurb shite.

Oh is that the ones that spontaneously combust in male hands? Dangerous that.

Spartans · 06/09/2015 18:34

Asked dh, he is a member but doesn't post often. He says he liked Asda nappies and feels left out now. We don't have any nappies so haven't seen it.

Mr spartan would happily add his name to it Grin

Spartans · 06/09/2015 18:34

We don't have any kids in nappies

Hamiltoes · 06/09/2015 18:37

Yes we should change the name to parentsnet. Immediately.

annandale · 06/09/2015 18:41

Nothing stopping asda putting 'the parents of Mumsnet'. Blame them.

I don't think the site should be renamed until the hack stuff has had time to fade away. Judging by the SWMNBN furore, that will be a couple of years.

Depends whether you count prejudice and stupidity as reasons really!

Spartans · 06/09/2015 18:55

It kind of implies mums of mumsnet like them....the dads of mumsnet don't.

I don't think mumsnet should changes it name. Just don't see why it needed to specify 'mums' of mumsnet.

Hamiltoes · 06/09/2015 19:16

Suppose it doesn't have to. But in the same way "Mumsnet" doesn't have to be called "Mumsnet", theres just a ring to it.

Not something I'd lose sleep over.

TravellingToad · 06/09/2015 19:39

Mindless sexism which is so often ingrained and unchallenged. DH changes as many nappies as me (both work part time, both child care part time) and is as likely to buy a pack as I am.

I hope mumsnet changes the wording.
