On Friday 30th I was looking at my e-mail settings as I had just changed over to SIP for my telephone and internet connections. I saw that the "reply" name and address were not mine, so deleted them and wondered how that had happened.
As of today I can no longer send mails from this address and have spent the best part of the afternoon since about 15:00 patrolling the settings on my account only to have 3 different reply addresses entered, which I deleted.
I tried to change my password, but keep getting error messages.
Am I right in thinking that any hacker will not be able to send either?
I also looked in my sent mails folder. There were 80 spam mails sent from there and it looked like all my own sent mails had been deleted.
I should add that I changed my IP contract on 21st August, still with the local incumbent as live in the middle of nowhere, but now with their hardware too. I changed some e-mail stuff on 30th August, but only became aware of this on 29th.
Whenever I try to send a mail I get a message telling me it's not possible.
I am going to have to ring their expensive hotline number, aren't I?
