I mean, homeopathy student that runs a website helping children to sleep wants money after she went off to a festival and her boat sank....

Why not just get insurance if you live on a boat?!

Yanbu. I would never donate to a cause on one of these websites. She will likely get the money as the papers are running the story. There are enough people out there that do donate.

It bothers me because my grandad ends up reading about these things, feeling sorry for them and donating. He ends up leaving himself with no money to help people who really shouldn't be asking for it in the first place. He donated to bloody Dax tale of New York (or whatever it was called) and the homeless in Heathrow couple too.

They should be banned, only charities should be able to fund raise in this manner.

So many fail to take personal responsibility and then expect others to bail them out. What does it teach the next generation?

Im on a few American facebook pages and theres always people asking for funding for some medical procedure because they cant afford insurance. Imagine the amount of gofundme pages here without the NHS.
