to think that I don't need to hear a running commentary to your internet browsing

I like the internet, I do not need to hear about what website someone is looking at right now, what all the options they're selecting are or have unfunny things read out to me.

It started with me reacting to laughing or whatever, and then getting a full explanation of what they were reading, and the context, and an explanation of the context if I didn't get it. Now I've stopped reacting to any attention grabs noises but it's STILL HAPPENING. I'm not feigning interest in the unsolicited explanations but it's STILL HAPPENING.

Guy at work does this with email or whatever. Mutters "ooh that's interesting"
I don't want to know but have to ask to be polite and then I get an hour long lecture. I have work to do!

He's buying a duvet and I'm hearing all about which options he's selecting to get the weight he wants. I... can't think of anything I am less interested in!

This is after a run of hi-larious emails from people I don't know Angry

Ooh I actually need a single duvet ask him what he recommends :o

SawdustInMyHair · 06/09/2015 19:46

He wants a 4.5 tog because despite saying my house is cold today he 'never gets cold' Hmm

He is still going. He's been literally telling me everything he's clicking on "file...open... ...I'm just opening a file to do a thing" NO SHIT SHERLOCK.

Today I was also treated to a detailed and unprovoked examination of his brother's fanfic, the biography of his MMORPG character, and an episode-by-episode account of a particular anime series. I'm not even feigning interest. Whenever I try to change the subject he just goes "Yeah. So anyway..."

He's leaving tomorrow and I had a bad dream last night that he won't this will just be my life. I mean, I am a nerd but I'm not forcing him to sit through a lecture about how the Prime Directive was violated by Kirk and the implications for galactic diplomacy.

I feel your pain. You're right about Kirk too!
