Really wanker? I don't see the SNP as any worse for party lines than any other party.
Did you watch the C4 labour leader debate? Didn't catch it all but the bit I did see was three people desperately trying to say the same thing, using slightly different words!
I actually do quite like the SNP- I have a fabolous MP whose office is a stonesthrow from my home and he gets extremely involved in local issues. He is helping to spread the word about a fundraising event in the local town hall to send leftover camping equipment/ clothing out to refugees. Recently watched him on QT and he was very well spoken and reasoned. Aswell as what Ubik stated above, I suppose I'm thankful to the SNP for the work they did boosting apprenticeships accross Scotland as I managed to secure one, which has given me a great education and a job for life. My work hadn't taken on apprentices for years. I work in the Engineering sector and the SNP are certainly one of the keenest parties to make Scotland a technology leader in the green and renewables sector. The country definitely needs something like this to replace the pits and clyde.
Other things I can see, my whole area has been regenerated and there has been loads of new social housing, mid-market, shared ownership etc homes built. It was one of the worst in the city 5-10 years ago, a total dump with high rates of drug addiction, high rise flats, poverty and crime. I now rarely see antisocial behaviour and feel ALOT safer. I recently had to use the services of Police Scotland and their suport for victims of domestic abuse/ crime was excellent. There is clearly a drive going on at the moment to link up the services, within a week I was called by a victim support service and within 2 weeks the HV was out to check everything was OK. Could not fault Police Scotland in the slightest.
I could go on, but what I'm getting at here as that politics and parties are rarely as black and white as "brainwashed" and "cult". You may not know anyone who likes the SNP, or I think "at least half the population can't stand Nicola sturgeon and everything she stands for." was the term that was used, but where I come from in my area you would seriously struggle to find someone who didn't like the SNP and NS.
And thats most likely because the things that matter here are not really "how long I have to wait on the off chance I might end up in A&E in the next 5 years". (For ref BTW I have been in hosp for ext stay last year and it was great, bar the food, and the staff are clearly rushed of their poor feet). I find it quite disrespectful that anyone who votes SNP is merely "brainwashed" or has fallen for the "cult", perhaps people who vote SNP have just experienced a different side of life and therefor have different priorities and opinions than you do
